I agree with you on that point mate.Gorgeous and seems like a smart lady
Well yes, I could accept naivety as as reason for them opting for the big wedding rather than sloping off beforehand fir a tax payer free wedding in alas Vegas or something. .. but to then rush off and immediately sell the story still stinks of calculation to me.That's definitely fleshed it out
A potential counterpoint is that her marriage was always going to be of huge interest and the couple may well have been advised or pressured into a very public and expressive fairytale wedding. As someone who was already getting plenty of negative press it may have been considered a poor choice to keep that particular event private or low key - damned if they do, damned if they don't scenario. You can imagine the reaction had they not made a spectacle of their nuptials for the patriotic taxpaying Great British Public™
On the face of it I also have a distaste for washing dirty linen in public but I do have a degree of sympathy for people in that particular position. Going from recognised off TV in America to the level that she did is quite an escalation and regardless of knowing before hand I doubt it's a degree of scrutiny and pressure that can be truly understood until someone is in it. For all the talk of her motivations there could possibly have been a degree of naivety - maybe even judgement clouded by the fairytale of falling in love with a bona-fide legitimate Prince. And then a further naivety thinking things would cool off once she'd been seen to wrench poor little Harry from his families loving embrace and over the pond.
And under that scrutiny there's maybe a chance that something snaps and you feel the need to answer back. You only need to look at this site and see how some people will obsessively only see negatives in the media about Everton to the point they feel legitimately persecuted and see conspiracy everywhere. There can be 10 positive stories and they'll obsess over an ambivalent story and spin it into a vicious attack orchestrated by the entire media. If people can do that over a football team then what's it like when the world's media is constantly throwing some very negative stuff at you directly as a person - in time you might succumb to the need to express your side of the story. I'd like to think I'd be above it all but I honestly don't think a person can have that degree of scrutiny and not have something misfire in their head.
But then I haven't got a clue either. In fact I've probably read less about it than you and you may very well be entirely correct.
That's Van Gogh-type stuff right there. I suspect it would work out about as well for you.I’d give her my digits
Yo jimi.
Love makes people stupid.Have to say she and Harry were somewhere on the scale of naive to stupid to think adding a biracial American divorcee to the firm was going to go off with no bumps.
Tragedy...Her actions have damaged the reputation of a gang of cousin bothering nonce defenders, who topped the last sound princess?
Spicy take, fella.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t her and H scarper from the monarchy-related limelight pretty sharpish and set about making their own money?
euphemistically?I reckon she'd be the best Royal to go for sushi with.
The costco plazzybags full of cash from erm... "a bunch of right on royalty chaps from overseas, good standing, moralistic fine gentlemen of great repute..."That no doubt came from taxpayers.
