No absolutely not. Further to that ,some years ago ,I asked the ticket office why I hadn't been given the Shareholder discount on my season ticket. The answer was - we didn't know you were a shareholder. Everton that .
Everytime I apply for tickets they tell me its sold out.
I asked for tickets for the Chelsea game last season ,before they went on sale, was told no problem, we will contact you once the are available, still waiting.

They could have been up front about this before taking everyone’s membership fees for a start.

I don’t live locally and only manage to get to a couple of games a season with my two boys. I’ve been charged £75 renewal fees in total for what is now a virtually zero chance of getting any tickets.
I completely agree with this. They've taken money and changed the rules afterwards. I checked the official site and it still says first come first served. I feel like reporting them to trading standards.

They're really bad for it.

For years they've had deadlines on season ticket renewals before revealing what you can do with tickets if can't go etc.

The official site always used to display my membership number when I logged in, now it just says Hello Peter and Log Off. I can still access all the members video’s etc but I did like that reassurance of seeing my membership number…..

I think that's a cracking idea! Although im sure there will be some small print somewhere saying they can change the rules / benefits whenever they want.

I'm not sure about the rights and wrongs of this matter. However, I've been a member for years, been on the ST waiting list for years. Attended every home game last season, purchasing my ticket with my membership. This feels as though I'm being rewarded for my loyalty. I'm also having to pay much more over a season, than a ST holder.

The bolded bit is unfortunately the club's definition of 'loyalty' these days if you are not a STH

So looks like as my two, daughters want to go to Goodison for one last time, my last match could be a 2nd round league cup game! Here’s hoping for a few good (I.e. against crap teams) draws….

it's a good idea to do that and go for a refund if nothing is stated in the T&C's especially if you're not planning on using your membership in the season ticket waiting list queue. I expect a lot will want to keep it for that reason which is why Everton know they can get away with it for most people.

Trading Standards would advise you to contact Citizens Advice helpline and they would tell you what legislation to go with (likely to be trades description act as you've been mislead) Then you would go back to Everton quoting that act and saying please refund me or it'll be the small claims court if you have the time!...
