its kinda like signing gerri allover again...

couldnt quite cut it at a big club, has all the ingredients to make it, makes all us fans excited about the prospect of what he might do...

THEN FLOPS.
Or like a certain Lukaku or let's say De Bruyne. Couldn't quite cut it/never got the required trust from his manager, had to take a step back.

Goes on to make his former manager eat humble pie.

Can really go both ways tbh

yeah but de bruyne and lukaku dont have anywhere near the mental baggage this lad comes with.

Its a tough ask mate, im gonna be honest, does he have any hunger left?

The same hunger that drove him in the Dutch league, I know its a "poorer league", but you still need hunger.

I planted my flag by calling him YouTube and the likes, but if the Boy shows the Hunger and the Magic then he could be a good signing.

But ok, he needs the Hunger and the Magic in equal portions.

Yes, I give you that, but in my personal opinion, Koeman is much more qualified to deal with those issues than Mourinho. He knows Depay, he knows his potential and he no doubt will know all too well about his mental bagage. If he didn't believe he could sort the boy out, he'd stay well clear of him.

will have to give him a chance if he signs... will always back our players.

im just sceptical. he's being given away at £15m.

united were staunch in their valuation with snides, wanting to recoup all their fee. they obviously rated him and dint want to just give him away to a rival.

united stand to make a £10m plus loss selling depay at £15m. if they valued him at all they would want the full £25m, just like snides.

im uneasy at the thought of us signing a billy big bollox.

Why do you think it didn't work out with Van Gaal DT? Is there a reason you think Koeman would be more suited to get the best out of the kid as it looks like Van Gaal failed and Mourinho blatantly wants nothing to do with him.

I'd much prefer a permanent deal over a loan. If he comes on loan and does brilliantly he'll just go back to United and stay there or be sold to the highest bidder.

His stock is at the lowest it'll be right now and if it doesn't work out then we can always ship him off for a similar fee to what we paid (or even a few £m loss isn't the end of the world).

The potential upside of it being a permanent deal far outweighs the downside.

Fuming that I deposited money into my Betfair account to get the 4/1 earlier and as soon as I do it drops to 2/1. Typical lol.
