Absolutely; I am not downplaying the mental trauma he suffered and may continue to now.
It makes me want him to succeed even more and if its with us then great. I think it will be.
Get Jimmy Martin and Big Dunc in with him and he will feel at home.

Agree. Just makes you realise that people look at footballers, actors etc and think they have it all, an amazing life, money, anything they want, however im sure most wouldnt swap their life for his when they hear his story. Its so easy for fans to judge as we tend not to see them as humans.

I hope he signs for us.

I agree, without going sentimental about Everton we do have some great and very decent folk at the club and if he signs, I think the welcome and support he would get would be as good as making him feel at home as you could get. We do that stuff better than most. At United it's easy to get lost within such an empire.

Agree, but the human mind is a fragile thing so although we can look and say he's achieved this and that, come through the adversity and made something of himself, it must be hard to let everything he's gone through go.

The fact that Everton are a very family like club, which is always pointed out by players and we have no big time charlies may help him settle. But without professional help, his anger etc may always be there.

Its a sad story. Makes me want him more though.
Maybe United were the wrong club, at the wrong time under the wrong manager (LVG). They have been crying out for a reincarnation of Ronaldo since he left. Depay signed for huge money for arguably one of the biggest clubs in the world. He made a great start which raised expectations to unrealistic levels. He was just a youngster coming into the hardest team in the league and playing under a manager who was under great pressure himself. LVG abandoned flair in favour of safety first football and Depay was left out in the cold.

his game defo wasnt suited under LVG, remember when they had a run or 3 or 4 games without even having a shot at goal, or something equally as ridiculous.

lol, I'm entirely predictable, I now feel guilty for saying earlier on in the thread I'd struggle not to hate him on sight!

Nowt to feel guilty about on the surfacechecdies appear a bit of a divvy, knowing his background though, it does show there's actually a strong person there underneath the bling etc, still never heard one account of him getting into trouble off field too, or any criticism of his football dedication etc.
