What cracks me up is some of the folks are talking like the country’s ills is down to having a king and what not.
Nothing to do with the sheet house Tory government and there total mismanagement of the country’s economy, the lies and corruption and chaos wrought on this country. A government we as a people voted for but if people want to believe abolishing the Monarchy will cure this nation then go ahead.
They do bring in lots of money through tourism and are respected around the world. The fact that they are still here is not why me and most are struggling with the cost of living yet we got Lizz Truss jetting around the world on a private jets for pony trade deals cost this country millions and she still hasn’t told us what she’s going to do about it he cost of living crisis.
But yeah lets bag on the monarchy whilst the Tories are the ones who really need to be abolished.

Not sure why you're surprised. The Tories receive little welcome around here, and the monarchy has long been associated with them.
I suspect the poll is overstating the forum's allegiance to the monarchy, given the context in which you've chosen to poll the members.
It just seemed from the amount of noise on the thread that there would be wider support. Could be that those for the monarchy are of tendency to shout louder than others, or just a simple perception issue on my behalf.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, it's mainly apathy & indifference amongst the masses that keeps the monarchy rolling here in the UK. You ask most working class individuals what they think & they'll probably shrug their shoulders & say they're not bothered either way. It's like religion in a sense. If someone is brought up in a household where their parents are strong believers in a certain religion, chances are they'll grow up with the same ideology, & so it continues throughout the generations. For me, the queen, or the king, are not representative of who I am. I have very little in common with them. Now when people like Alan Ball, Brian Labone et al passed away I did feel a deep sadness at their passing because of the connection I had with them. I'd say that's probably a snapshot of how a lot of people in Britain are feeling right now. The wealthier the person the greater connection they have to royalty.
Charles hasn't avoided inheritance tax. The Queen's estate has.
When Charles dies then his estate will avoid inheritance tax if he passes his estate to William.

IHT was removed from Royal estates ages ago. If you think about it, they dont actually "own" much stuff. We do, and let them use it.
