Spanish employment law dictates you can't legally sign a contract for any less than 50% of your previous salary.

I'm pretty sure the lawyers could have got an exclusion on that had the will been there to do so. That rule is to protect presumably lower paid workers.

For all American capitalism and stuff, salary cap in their sports seems so much more fair than European football. Yes clubs from big market cities (LA, New York, Chicago) got more pull than for example Utah or Indianapolis but clubs from those cities can still get great players playing for them and challenge for top (like Phoenix and Milwaukee in NBA this year)

Those players have been on the receiving ends of huge overturns in deficits a couple of times in the champs league. Poch hasn't won anything either.

Think City are getting a bit more longevity out of their signings. Looks to me like PSG are going all out for Champions League this season or next. Think they'll do it too if they can manage to play as a team. It's going to be like watching the Harlem Globetrotters.
