Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all especially @messymascot , hopefully you got some sleep .

Ridiculously early start for me , an early night for me meant I woke up early and was in the gym around 6 . Feeling stupidly fresh today so hoping to get the things I need to do done .

@Barnfred 55 morning , i haven’t watched that but if it’s tempting you to late night binges I might give it a look .

It isn't what it sounds like mate. I guess it's more for young people rather than old farts like us, but is quite funny and an easy watch which is more what I need at the moment.

Plus it's set in the Wye Valley, an area I know really well as we used to travel through it on our trips down to Cornwall.

Morning all. Hope you're feeling better today @messymascot. Even though you were feeling rough yesterday, you were still keen to keep us updated. That's you all over, mate.

Lovely and sunny, at the moment, down here in Kent. 15C the high today. Didn't sleep very well. We've been trialling one of those bed in a box mattresses, but it's too firm for us. You can trial it for a year and return for a full refund within that time, which is what we'll be doing. Had it barely two weeks.

Hope you all have a great day.

Yes it is true most houses have a saunaand most apartments have a sauna in the building that you book .I went to the swimming baths and a girl of 16/17 came around the changing room mopping the floor -That was embarassing for me .
There is to my knowledge none of the shinanigins that are in the films going on in the sauna .It was the most economical way to wash a family and to wash and dry their clothes ready for the next day ,when people had few clothes and only wood for the fire .
We have a sauna with wooden "pillows" so you can lie down and relax and we have a cold pool to dip in which releases natural cortizone in your joints ,so I love it .We use the sauna five times a week normally .
The branches are Birch and it does help circulation ,when they are fresh they are soft but some freeze them to use later and they are harder on the skin .

Fascinating stuff. Always interesting to hear about other countries cultures. Whenever I visit any country I always like to immerse myself in at least some of their culture. Oh, and the food, of course. Unless it's sheep's brains.

There was an incident here a few years ago when Japanese visitors went to a company called Fiskars which makes knives scissors and axes ,that sort of stuff .
Of course the visitors were given gifts of special knives ,luckily the guide realised and explained because in Japan if you are given a knife it is to commit harikiri ,it could have been an International upset .
I agree and try to do the same along with a few words if possible .As I have apparently eaten brains in brawn it is sheep's eyes that would be the one I couldn't try .

Afternoon @messymascot and everyone. We still talking about sheep eyes and brains @Barnfred 55 will be licking his lips his mouth will be watering lol
Mate. Nothing unusual with my culinary tastes. lol Had a very simple BLT on toasted ciabatta for lunch and a second helping of the chicken curry and rice I made the other night is planned for tea. It was a pretty hot one but I suppose that's the benefit of coking for yourself, you can make food to your own tastes.

Going to make chilli tomorrow. First time I've done it since I've been on my own but I'm just going to make the same amount as normal. I should get 3 portions out of it so I'll freeze one and have the others this week. I have that with boil in the bag brown rice which i normally does me 2 meals.

Chilli is probably my go to dish and have made it so often I don't need to check a recipe. In fact, it's one I may share in Sassy's thread if I get round to it.
