Good morning all on this cloudy day here in Hyvinkää .I hope all had a great kip and are ready for the new day ,who is watching tonigh ? I intended to take an international membership so I could watch the preseason games but when I started it became obvious they wanted another 8.99 to post some stuff over ! What and why would I want superflous tat .So it looks like it will be on a game to game basis and I will have to forego the pleasure of "exclusive footage of their training and interviews with players whose favourite internet game is ludo ".Rant over ,have a great day all.

To be fair it’s still nicer than a lot of places. Sadly, over development, lack of supporting infrastructure eg GP surgeries, dentists, and roads that just can’t cope with an influx of two car homes has created the current situation. The new bypass should help with the traffic problem when it’s finally completed albeit at the expense of lovely green space. There are now a few decent places to eat and drink though.
I don’t live in Standish by the way but near enough to enjoy the good bits eg new leisure centre/gym, nice eating places and a few decent independent shops - oh and a Galloways (you can take the girl out of Wigan ..etc etc)

Not been to Standish for a while but always quite liked it. Is the Owls still going? When I had an office in Skelmersdale we used to take the staff to Henry Africa's for Xmas parties but I know that closed ages ago

That's not quite true Jazz. I have on occasion been known to partake in the odd chip. One of those is whilst enjoying fish and chips at the Ferryboat, the establishment that Blue was referring to.
Those tamarind fries were delicious though.
Just had a distinctly average sausage butty and coffee at Dublin Airport. 13 euros. Think I'll skip lunch

Yes the Owls is still going - the road down to there is where most of the new developments are. Henry Africas
. OMG I have been there a time or two and Cassinellis across the road. The site of Henry Africas is now The Charnley Arms and a premier inn. I used to work on Community in Skelmersdale- the days when you had to drive round with an A to Z propped up on your steering wheel. I once set off to do a home visit and never found it

2 hours in and I'm already bored. At least they have free WiFi at the airport so I'm able to stay in touch with the transfer thread. That's always good for a laugh.
