Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Been a very busy day. Furniture delivered, then gym . This afternoon I built and erected an arch ( very very rustic!) into the new tropical garden - I think that's more Monty Don than the jungle , which is a bit Castleford Tigers, and cut some grass.
Now chilling to a bit of Karen Carpenter, who gets me every time.
Ah Karen Carpenter - what a voice. Reminds me of my dad who loved the carpenters - funnily enough he was a joiner. He also loved Nat King Cole and passed that on to me too.
What have you put in your tropical garden ? Inspired by our love of Greece we’ve been developing a Mediterranean garden - a few olive trees, lavenders, geraniums and a few urns etc. I love it but it doesn’t quite beat being there.

I'm a smartarse Val😀

TBH, I'm not convinced it's the right answer. It certalinly fits 2, and you could put forward a good argument for a 3rd. That's close enough for me to stick my neck out😀
Never one to shy away Fred ,not the right answer I am afraid .The question would have been can you guess which word fits two and at a push three of these definitions :p:p

Oh dear I like Nat King Cole too , but the jazz piano playing Nat as opposed to the crooner Nat.

We have a dry Mediterranean garden too. I raised the levels by about a foot and filled the area with soil and about 6 inches of gravel to aid drainage. I've planted buddleia as a screen against wind and then yuccas, agaves, olive trees , lavender and a few other things to give some summer colour .

I only finished the tropical garden a week or so ago and if you go back 10 pages you should see some photos which Fred very kindly posted . There are tracyhocarpus fotunei ( palm tree) X2 , agapanthus, cordylines, fatsia japonica ( castor oil 2 spiders web and 1 normal ) 7 banana plants ( 5 muso basjo and 2 muso grand Nairn) , a schefflera , a tetrapanix , various grasses , persecaria , ferns , dahlias, acanthus a water feature with umbrella plants and bruchmasia fuschia and a Paulawina.

Fingers crossed that it all grows. It's in a south facing sheltered spot so it has a decent chance if I add some winter protection.
