Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all. Busy day today. Have grandkids nos. 3 & 4 today followed by visit to GP as blood tests need re-doing. Hannah rang at 7 this morning to remind they were coming. As if I could forget them, however hard I tried. lol Looking forward to seeing pics of the quilt, @blue1948. My current project is a crochet temperature blanket, the rows represent the temperature for each day. Will post pic to explain later, I need to get ready for the onslaught.
Have a good day, all.💙

Sounds like one of Blues puzzles H😀

Well that's my morning chores done - mum's housework and ours.

Cup of tea and watch the golf and hopefully ( weather permitting ) cricket and then start remodelling mum's garden.

She has a Meditteranean garden in the front and a rose garden where she sits but she loves cottage gardens ( which we hate !) so I'm going to redo a small section in a cottage garden style. Bought loads of hydranges , penstimen , rudbekia , phlox and geraniums for her yesterday and just need to remove a couple of rhodedendron and camillia ( yes I now it's not the right time of the year to be moving them Joey but it's cool and damp - and will remain so - and needs must ).

That will take me the afternoon so have a lovely day everyone.

Would warmer weather be better for Mrs B's condition ?
She hasn't mentioned any difference in the symptoms winter or summer ,a friend's wife has it worse thanArja and she was treated by going in a room at -100°C . As I said I don't know but we do like warmer climes ,it is just the risk of ilness that is still in our minds and we have no trouble staying at home ,we love each others company and as I said we get both warm and cold seasons to enjoy.

We had a plant called Dorinicum that was very showy and just up your Mum's street I would imagine ,yellow and needs next to no care just water when dry .

Living in Speke we used to play there all the time as a kid. Airport put a stop to that but I think you can still get down there via Dungeon Lane.
You can still get down there, although it’s now via Baileys Lane and onto Oglet. The airport closed off half of Dungeon Lane about seven years ago.

They've extended the area around the runway for security and safety reasons (e.g. bigger planes and less chance of trespassers). I run along the front quite often.

The cruise terminal is way past BMD . Should get a great view
Yes we'll definitely sail past it Jazz. Not sure how close we'll get as the channels are very narrow on the Mersey, especially at low tide. Still should be able to get some decent pics though.

We're actually in Liverpool on the August bank holiday Sunday. The neighbours are big Beatles fans so I'm going to surprise them with tickets for the Beatles Convention at The Adelphi. It's such a brilliant day and I haven't been for about 10 years. Hopefully I'll bump into Bill Heckle too.
