Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

When it is my round, it is "Me, Turk and Kev mate".

"Guinness or rum for Kev?"

"You off after this one Kev?"

"Aye"

"Rum for Kev mate".

Its the same with the postie. Royal Mail have an app, (apparently) that lets you give them delivery options, like leave in the shed etc. I bumped into mine earlier and said if I am out just leave it round the back.

Does my nut all this app stuff.
Hold the rum mate, I've got plenty time for another couple of Guinness.

What amazing love stories that Pete and Blue must have with their wives!! It makes me sad reading about their pacts, but it is something that they decided that they want to do.

Reading posts from them as well as several others on here about the wonderful relationships that they have had with their partners is beautiful to experience. It also makes me sad because I've never had a relationship like that with any of my partners, but it does give me hope for the future.

Much love to all of you!!! 💙

I met my wife at 49 so yes plenty of time for you ,the secret for us is the relationships that hadn't worked ! When you get the right one grab with both hands and your heart .

All this technology and App talk reminded me of my experience in Belfast International airport in July.

At one one of the restaurants, you order at the till then take a seat. However, they then load up a little 4ft robot with your trays and it manoeuvres over to your table. The confused look on faces as it dawned on people that the order was their’s was priceless and they then gingerly removed the trays from the robot.

Technology gone too far right there.

Good morning everyone. Interesting reading about the app experiences. I think I might be the odd one out here. I love the fact that I can order our meds on the NHS app and just get told when they are ready to pick up, and I do my weekly shop online and get it delivered. I even order my liquids on the Boots app when I’m going on holiday and pick them up airside at the airport. I have loads of apps on my phone which I use regularly. I know what you mean about food and drink establishments though if you have questions. I guess it is a way of keeping costs down and profits up. The ones that really get my goat are the chatbot standard questions that you have to go through to get to a real person. Generally I do think they make life easier.
We had a very successful shopping trip yesterday - got bag and shoes which were a little higher both in heel and price than I thought they would be, but Mr P happy that it didn’t take me long to choose them.
Gym and housework for me today - have a great day whatever you are up to

Morning all, dry at the moment but storms are forecast for later. Wednesday again so it’s chewing the fat with my friend this morning . Mr G. off with his mate painting again today so have the day to myself, probably do a bit more to my research into Matilda and Retta Pratt owners of the antique mugs. Matilda married and had two children the son married but had no children and the daughter is proving difficult to trace, Catherine Wright in Lancashire not the best name to be searching as it’s fairly common. Glad the shopping trip went well @Val P , one less thing to worry about.
Talking of apps and technology, there was a robot delivery service in Northampton, don’t know whether it is still operating though. A bridge too far if you ask me but as usual no one is. lol Have a good day, all,💙

Have these in Cambridge run by the co-op you have to pay for the service via the app plus food plus a further delivery charge. In our village we reckon by the time it turns up our groceries will actually be in date.

Hi all. Just got back from the dentist. I am now minus a root from the tooth where my filling collapsed- there wasn't much actual tooth left. Totally painless experience. The dentist was done in about five minutes.
I don't mind apps generally but not a fan of them in pubs. I use them quite a lot for holiday bookings, car parking, airline check ins, on line banking, that kind of thing. I absolutely hate on line shopping though. It really stresses me out for some reason. I think I like to look at the produce in real life.
It's pouring here and very dark.
Have a good day everyone
