Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. We have blue skies here. Wooo! I strongly suspect it won't last. More rain due this afternoon.
I've just realised that I'm going to miss following our first match on 12th. Mr F and I are going to Redcar races. I booked it ages ago and didn't realise it clashed with the opening day fixtures. So no slobbing in front of Soccer Saturday on that day!
Incidentally going to Redcar involves setting off early, parking at the opposite end of the town to the course, walking along the beach to the course with obligatory fish and chip stop ( because you are at the seaside) on the way. On the way back - lemon top ice cream.
Might just be a lot better than watching the Blues ,especially if you win a few bob on the gee gees.

That sounds like a great day out , well apart from the driving bit because you can't drink . Oh and I don't like horse racing either. But the walk on the beach , fish and chips and ice cream sounds fab!
BTW I am available for commissions as a personal shopper. What a great job that must be .
Consider yourself hired! My daughter usually gives forthright opinions. I remember taking her into a changing room when she was about 4. I tried something on and said "Does Mummy look nice?' Her response 'No Mummy, you look like poo'. She was right too🤣
I love Redcar. It has the fading grandeur of a down on its luck Victorian seaside town. The buildings along the seafront are beautiful but a bit shabby now. The closure of the steelworks a few years ago killed the town. Also the film Atonement was partly filmed in Redcar.

Wasn’t there a TV series filmed there a few years ago, as it was the poorest area in Britain? Some real characters in it, one was a young lad who hoped to be in the recording industry and got a chance in London . I’ve often wondered what happened to him.

Yes I remember that. Cleveland generally is one of the most deprived areas in the country. If I remember rightly the life expectancy for men in some parts of the area is only about 64. Absolutely shocking really.

Fast losing the will to live here. Mr G. called at the pharmacy for his repeat prescription yesterday. The pharmacist hadn’t received authorisation from the surgery, which was unusual so they sent off another request. I called in this morning only to be told it’s still not ready. Emailed surgery as it’s difficult to get through on phone, reply received saying they no longer accept repeat requests by phone or email you have to do it via NHS app. Twenty minutes trying to install app and register, finally achieved that and find out he needs to download photo and proof of ID, he’s not here he’s out today helping his mate painting. Medication needed tomorrow. Currently in a queue trying to get through to the surgery. Aaaaagh.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Once you’re sorted it works well, I use it for my repeats.
