Hi All!
I had headache and tummy ache over the weekend, so was down for the count....and it wasn't because of Everton lol Good thing I didn't watch the match who knows what condition I'd be in now!!
I have survived the hurricane..so far. There is some major flash flooding happening in our mountains right now. I got the emergency alert on my phone at 6am because I live on the down slope. Luckily Vegas has done a pretty good job of building flood control channels. There is a HUGE flood containment basin up the hill from me that prevents the water in this footage from reaching my area. Here is some video.
It's cool and overcast today, so I am heading back to the stable to fix the mud bog my horse is in right now. I know, Horse Mom problems.

I’ve seen lots of film of the floods and as you say the drainage has been sorted. Glad you are ok and feeling better. Don’t let the blues get you down…keep smiling…….

The weather people knew we would get some of the hurricane/tropical storm here, but it was not certain how much until it showed up. Cali was always going to get the brunt of it, but I don't think it was as bad there as they predicted it might. The same with Vegas and that's a good thing!
The mountains got the heaviest rain in both places. Up to 12 inches in Cali mountains and 6 inches in our mountains. A lot of water in a short time period.

Thank you! My horse is good. I did have to dig a trench to drain some of the water out of his stall. I've waited a while today before I go over to let it dry out some more.I’ve just been watching it on the news, please stay safe @Vegas Toffee Girl , and I hope your horse is safe too. It must be very scary.
It is a bit scary. Getting emergency alarms on my cell phone telling me flashing flooding is happening, not to leave my home and its a life or death situation doesn't help stress levels, but I'd rather get them then not.

Good moring all on this misty morning here in Hyvinkää .I hope all are well after a good night's sleep ,quite horrific floods @Vegas Toffee Girl it is amazing what we get used to with the weather . I remember as a boy we had a cloud burst -it was 2" rain in an hour and the bottom of Walton lane was under water for two days as the drains couldn't take it ,they re-routed the buses and what cars there were then the debris left behind took weeks to clear .We have no real idea of how the weather can change our lives until it does . No it's quite a small boat compared to the newer ones. Takes 2000 passengers but there's only around 1600 on board so its quite pleasant. Lots of solo travellers too. Saw some humpback whales yesterday morning but I didn't have my phone with me. There's something very special about seeing whales in their natural environment.

Good morning all. @Vegas Toffee Girl I'm glad you and yours are all OK. @Val P oh goodness - a wedding and a house sale! He doesn't do things by half does he?
@Barnfred 55 keep enjoying your cruise. It has looked brilliant so far. Nice that you have made some new friends. @roydo Brilliant story. We have been persuaded to book one for next June. We will be going with the same people we went with last time. It is P&O this time and we will be going to Spain and Portugal. Funding is mostly coming from my employer who has royally messed up our overtime payments so in September I will be getting back pay on overtime from October 2020!
Everton are depressing me on every level. Racist abuse of our own ayers, booing DCL when those same people have been saying he should be putting his body on the line, which is exactly what he did. Why we didnt buy Coady and got rid of Mina but kept Keane is one of life's unsolved mysteries. I still can't solve your puzzle @blue1948 .

Out of Southampton or fly cruise ?
Ventura. From Southampton. We've also taken the option to add in bus travel to Southampton so we'll have a jolly boys outing from Washington Services to Southampton! I'm already planning my bus picnic.
Lovely. Ventura is an old boat but recently been refitted I think. It is one of our favourites and the first cruise liner that we ever went on ( Caribbean) . You will love it. Just watch out for the Bay of Biscay though
