Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, hope you are all well. So it’s the big day - my first game of the season and I’m not feeling madly excited about it tbh. But anyway COYBs. Mr P reckons by the time I’m in my seat and z cars is playing I’ll be excited but the prospect of my pre match cheese and onion pie is more appealing than the football, and believe me it’s not gourmet. I was involved in the consultation events for Bramley Moore and I requested the return of warm Eccles Cakes on my feedback sheet for a laugh (I meant it really). I actually got a written reply saying that they couldn’t promise me it would happen which I thought demonstrated they must have read everyone’s feedback.
We had a spectacular storm here last night which was unfortunate really as our local coffee bar, which is basically a converted horse box in a field on a farm, had their first late license complete with outdoor seating and a pop up food bar. Luckily we got inside as soon as the rain started and it was lovely to sit and watch the lightening whilst drinking Prosecco. Got drowned on the walk home but as my mum used to say - don’t be soft you’re not made of sugar.
Nice to see the person behind the funny clips @summerisle. I have to say I’m quite jealous of you all having decent pubs nearby, there’s only one proper pub near us and its like a tumbleweed moment if you walk in and your not a regular. I think that’s why last nights event was so well attended.
Enjoy the game everyone- please god 3 points. I can’t bear another toxic atmosphere.

Good morning all. The lurgy appears to have passed so we are away to Scotland for the weekend. Mr F is no longer plague ridden so all systems go. I'm so looking forward to it. The Western Highlands are my favourite part of the world. Its a six hour drive from here so there will be a lunch stop😃.
I really hope we win today. It might dispel some of the gloom and negativity.

Have a good day all x
Have a great time - it’s so beautiful up there

Pleased Mr F. is better, have a great weekend. Everton? What’s that, never heard of it.

Yes we enjoyed the storm too. Sat in the Orangery watching the lightening, drinking wine and listening to Suzanne Vega , it was fab.
I have absolutely zero expectations about today at Goodison. I think we will lose and be rooted to the foot of the table with nil points having played 2 of the easier teams at home. Dark , dark days but what the hell can we do.

Anyway morning everyone and I hope that Everton doesn't wreck you weekend @anjelikaferrett . One of the good things I found about driving in the Highlands is that you get very little radio reception so with a bit of luck you won't know how bad we've been until you get to your hotel. Hope you've taken a few CDs of put the MP3 player on in the car. Regardless have a great stay.

Now sunny here but not sure for how long so I will do a bit in the garden and if it stays dry will wander down to watch some village cricket.

Fingers crossed that Newcastle batter the RS to bring some footballing solace.

Hope you are able to enjoy the game, Mr P. is right I’m sure once you hear the strains of Z Cars your enthusiasm will reappear - whether it will last for 90+ minutes is debatable lol .
What a shame about the pop up food bar, this year really has been rubbish for outdoor events.

Indeed. We had put a large Marquee in the pub car park for the summer, I think it got used about 4 times properly before the winds came a couple of weeks back and we had to take it down. Our decking area has done well on the nice days, but even last night with everyone outside the rain came in waves and forced everyone back inside or into the smoking hut. Terrible year…..
