Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Not the same if you cannot smell the food ,the next big breakthrough for technology is to send the smell of food .I looked into it and there are some 15000 different bits that make up a smell .Then there is the cost of the machine to mix them ! When I was a kid not much of tech we have today could even be dreamt of so hold your breathe .
No but you can close your eyes and imagine, quick sniff of my basil plant, taste of a ripe tomato, juicy nectarine and of course a bit of ouzo can always transport me in my mind.
I’m sure smellivision will be a thing @peteblue until then it’s looking at pics, sniffing and day dreaming 😂

Really sorry to hear that….
Cheers Pete. We all knew it was coming but really numb now the reality has dawned.

She has her funeral planned to the last detail.

I have lovely memories of going over to GP with her. She was absolutely overwhelmed when she met Dave Hickson on a tour of the ground.

RIP Sis. Ní bheidh do leithead arís ann.

I know the feeling as I lost one of my sisters late last year. But with the memories you have she will never really go away…god bless…..

Honestly Pete I believe this is the best attitude to take. It works for me anyway. Just focus on the positive things in your life and, if you are able, put the not so positive things to the back of your mind. I know it's more difficult for you as you are having to deal with the not so positive things on a daily basis, but the premise still stands.

In relation to the pub, from what I have seen it is a big part of your life that brings you a lot of enjoyment and fulfillment. What happened yesterday, as ugly as it was for those directly involved, sounds like a rarity and shouldn't be taken out of context given the overall enjoyment owning the pub brings you.

Thanks Fred. Indeed. I am a positive outlook person by nature and the pub thing was really a concern for our staff, all of whom seem ok thankfully. We shall be there again tonight and no doubt there will be lots of comments from the locals. It’s a small village, with lots of regulars, (note not the two involved last night) and nothing ever happens like this. It’ll give the community something to talk about….

My wife and I had a wonderful day, easy morning, drive in the countryside, visit to the pub and a lovely meal prepared and presented by my son. By now it’s 6.30pm. So halfway through the meal I get a phone call from the pub. A couple who had been barred just the night before for swearing and abusing other customers, turned up and a member of staff turned them away. This almost never happens, indeed I only know of one occasion prior. Of course they were already drunk and attacked one of our staff members. The Police were called, the couple had disappeared but as they lived in the village everyone knew their address, so it’s up to the Police. I’m now getting phone calls every two minutes while eating my meal and trying to deal with it all. Another day ruined and grief dropped upon me, but my wife was fine. The couple concerned, who live in the village, have now been banned for life but may not even know it yet. I then had to speak with our staff to make sure they were all ok and that the one attacked was fine. All I could realistically do is apologise but give them an assurance we would prosecute. Meanwhile I now have a cold meal, I have indigestion and my wife is wondering what I’m fretting about. So big tip, never buy a bloody pub in your own village. I’m sure that by tomorrow when I’m in there and enjoying a pint I will think differently. But tonight I’ve had enough…..
Why are there always the odd tosser knocking about who selfishly cause havoc for everyone in their path.
Hope they get the message loud and clear and don't bother you and your staff again.

Oh they will never set foot in the place again. It was really odd as the lad has kids in the village school and is normally very polite, his new girlfriend though is not from the village and it was she who caused all the trouble on the two evenings, but really god only knows why …..
