Hello everybody. Another gorgeous day here. I'm enjoying this late summer heatwave. There are currently two baby rabbits hanging round in our garden. They are so cute. I just hope our cat doesn't notice them!
I made seafood risotto for tea tonight. It was really nice and pretty easy to do.
I'm just watching the T20 match. England are not covering themselves in glory.

Good morning all on this sunny warm day here in Hyvinkää .I hope all had a good night's kip and have a great day ,sorry to hear the weather is bad @jazzy somehow a Greek salad in the rain isn't the same ne'er mind the food is great and you can also have the beef garlic and onion stew -without the beef !
I am having a hard time working out what to do about our runaround car ,it seems the gearbox will be knackered so do I part-ex it or do I behave like a Finn and be honest ? Then what to get ,cars are so expensive here .
We manage well on our pension but big outlays are one I would like to miss .

Morning all, foggy again this morning. Sorry to hear the weather is a bit rubbish @jazzy , just checked the lightning app and see there are still some storms around, hopefully they clear up soon.
Bit of a knotty problem re the car @blue1948 , I would be inclined to part exchange but then I know nothing about cars. I’m not much help am I. lol
Hospital for me this afternoon. My eye appointment has finally arrived, only eight months late. The temporary prism on my glasses is now very dirty so it’s a bit like looking through a filthy vertical blind also it’s dead embarrassing. I can practically hear people thinking “Why the hell doesn’t she just clean her glasses?”

Good morning all, are we all enjoying the sun for a change? Too hot to go to far with Daisy so round the block is having to do.
Incidentally I have seen dogs in vans a couple of times, in what looks like they've been taken to work. one was a road mender(dunno what they're called) seemed to bring his dog to work everyday and a delivery driver. Feel sorry for those dogs at the best of times but the heat isn't on is it.

Good morning all. It seems to have clouded over here today but it is still really warm. Good luck with the eye appointment @Gwladysover . Sorting my eyes out is next on my 'to do' list. I've had reading glasses for ages but now I think I've reached the point where I need them full-time. After my hols though. I've got my last dentist appointment next week, which means I have to pay the bill, as well as an MOT and service for the car so it's already an expensive week. We are going to Nottingham to see son and his girlfriend this weekend so that won't be cheap either. Thank God for overtime! I think I would part ex the car @blue1948 but cough to the gearbox issues. I'm sure a garage could fix it at a much lower price than they would charge a punter so it might not make much difference to what you are offered for it.
Today is Wednesday - my non working day. It's been lovely so far. Cup of tea in bed, catching up with Everton and a chocolate labrador called Ollie that I follow on Instagram. I loved the way Dyche shot Gray down in flames. It shows he won't have any messing about. Gray's post was pitiful. so passive aggressive. I felt it warranted a 'U OK hun? DM me x' reply. I'm torn about the Saudis sniffing around Salah. It would be hilarious if he left them but the thought of that lot having £300m to spend is too awful to contemplate.
My plans for later are wash hair and meet a friend for lunch. We're going to a lovely pub just outside Darlington that has a beer garden next to the river so hopefully we can sit outside. Should be nice. I'm deciding whether to have my go to pub lunch - fish chips and mushy peas or look for a healthier option. I might try Fred's fish and chips without chips! But chips...can you really leave them out and not regret it? (reason number 362 why I'm a fat git

Finally, I ventured into the Dele Alli thread yesterday - after reading other posters commenting on it. OMG! Absolutely horrible. Fortunately there were plenty of good people calling out the folk posting some really awful things.

Busy day today. I took a friend into hospital yesterday so am waiting for his call to pick him up, meanwhile another mate wants me to take him to the surgery at a set time, plus of course dealing with my wife and then picking up my granddaughter. I’m just praying that the call doesn’t come at the same time as everything else, mind you I’ll just have to tell him to wait if it does….have a good day all……
