More thunderstorms forecasted for today but after a cloudy start never materialized. In fact it was a beautiful afternoon, sunny and hot.
Going into Molyvos again tonight which @Val P I think you would absolutely love. Very old , very historical but great restaurants, a beautiful very Greek harbour with fab restaurants and bars playing , tes you've guessed it Jazz. Heavenly for me

Hospital for me this afternoon. My eye appointment has finally arrived, only eight months late. The temporary prism on my glasses is now very dirty so it’s a bit like looking through a filthy vertical blind also it’s dead embarrassing. I can practically hear people thinking “Why the hell doesn’t she just clean her glasses?”

I've had reading glasses for ages but now I think I've reached the point where I need them full-time. After my hols though. I've got my last dentist appointment next week, which means I have to pay the bill, as well as an MOT and service for the car so it's already an expensive week. We are going to Nottingham to see son and his girlfriend this weekend so that won't be cheap either. Thank God for overtime! I think I would part ex the car @blue1948 but cough to the gearbox issues. I'm sure a garage could fix it at a much lower price than they would charge a punter so it might not make much difference to what you are offered for it.

Today is Wednesday - my non working day. It's been lovely so far. Cup of tea in bed, catching up with Everton and a chocolate labrador called Ollie that I follow on Instagram. I loved the way Dyche shot Gray down in flames. It shows he won't have any messing about. Gray's post was pitiful. so passive aggressive. I felt it warranted a 'U OK hun? DM me x' reply. I'm torn about the Saudis sniffing around Salah. It would be hilarious if he left them but the thought of that lot having £300m to spend is too awful to contemplate.

My plans for later are wash hair and meet a friend for lunch. We're going to a lovely pub just outside Darlington that has a beer garden next to the river so hopefully we can sit outside. Should be nice. I'm deciding whether to have my go to pub lunch - fish chips and mushy peas or look for a healthier option. I might try Fred's fish and chips without chips! But chips...can you really leave them out and not regret it? (reason number 362 why I'm a fat git 🤣)

Finally, I ventured into the Dele Alli thread yesterday - after reading other posters commenting on it. OMG! Absolutely horrible. Fortunately there were plenty of good people calling out the folk posting some really awful things.

Glad it’s not just me DM-ing our players 😂. Mine was - you have to earn respect and it’s doesn’t not don’t. I‘m not usually a grammar police person but he irritated the hell out of me. Your day sounds ideal and if it’s any consolation I’ve just had a huge cherry and almond muffin and a oat milk frappe in Lytham St Anne’s, which,considering it’s less than three weeks off the wedding and I’m supposed to have lost a stone is pretty pathetic. I’ve actually lost zilch. We decided to go out for the day as our internet went down this morning and you have to have a little treat don’t you.

Several months ago I was going to lose 3 stone for my hols. I've lost 3lbs. I'm sure all the healthy Greek food will do wonders for me and the long walks on the beach etc. And of course I won't be drinking to excess 🤣 🤣 🤣 ( my nose just grew bigger when I typed that)

Unfortunately it didn’t go to plan. To cut a very long story short, two hour wait, I’m the last person in waiting area, receptionist discovered I hadn’t been booked in and I was down as a “no show”. Consultant just leaving, very apologetic but has to be somewhere, he arranged for me to be assessed and given a new temporary prism. He said he will ring me tomorrow. New prism fell off glasses as I got into the car. You have to laugh don’t you?

No you shouldn’t laugh, it’s very poor. Complain to PALS if he doesn’t ring. I’d be v p’d off if I were you xx

Managed to get the prism onto my glasses so that’s good. It’s the “no show” that worries me, I hope they remember to correct it, I don’t want a reputation as a time waster.
 
Hello everybody. I had a lovely lunch with my friend. I went for the fish and chip option. Well worth it but reigned it in with the pudding, had a mini dessert and a coffee instead of a normal sized dessert and coffee. You can probably see my halo glowing if you look out of your window. The grey sky lifted later this morning and it's been another really warm day. still hot now. And, bonus - my tomatoes have turned red. I think this last blast of sunny weather is just what they needed.

I need some books to read on my hols - any suggestions anybody? I hardly ever read now because I read so much in work so actually having some time to read for pleasure is making me happy. I may check out the book club thread, there's usually some good recommendations in there but if anybody has any favourites let me know.

Sci fi, Stephen King type of stuff. I like crime thrillers, biographies. To be honest I'll read most things. Jackie Collins kept me company on many a sunbed in the 1980s. 🤣

i've never read anything by Terry Pratcett and I don't know why. I was thinking of buying a couple of his.
