Lost a very good friend today, he was in Italy on a cruise with 6 other couples from here, he was diagnosed with MSA a year ago this was so out of the blue ,they believe it was heart failure to say I’m gutted is an understatement he was only 65

So sorry to hear that Bri. His wife will be totally devastated. At least she isn't on her own. I know that's little consolation but believe me it will help.

I love the look and sound of that bar. The beer you have there is Nisos (meaning island) the one I like is Nymphi the label says ΝΥΜΦΗ and has a black and white drawing of a mermaid/nymph looking woman on it. Did you like Nisos - I did but then again there’s not many I don’t like in a freezing cold glass on a hot day by the sea ….

Nothing better than a nymph or two before dinner.

To quote the Fast Show , today I have mostly been watching the Ryder Cup.

Fantastic stuff.

I watched the end of the morning, recorded the afternoon, scooted through it until I caught the last bits . It was very enjoyable, Mrs bl always rolls her eyes at me because I write the names down and mark their progress as they play a hole - +1, -1 etc. It started in the 90’s when I didn’t have Sky - who knew “ Golf on the radio “ could be so exciting

Morning all, bright and sunny here which is good as we are helping daughter paint the outside of her new summerhouse today. A 5.30 start to see grandkid no2 off to school in Deeping, back to Pboro to do the inside of said summerhouse yesterday, meant that for the first time in ages actually slept through until 4.30 this morning.
Hope you get that call about your new job @Vegas Toffee Girl.

Good morning all on this rainy morn here in Finland .Finally finished wiping down all the paintwork ,my old back is not meant for that so just the floors to do before they get here ! Morning, I came across a couple of old photos yesterday , I thought I’d share one. This is from the Buckie & District Haggis Breeders Association’s annual ” Best in Show” awards back in 1923. You can’t really see it in the photo but their legs on one side are shorter so that they can run around hills quicker.

Lessons in Chemistry? No not for me , I failed Chemistry at O level and in any case Mrs J is the scientist in the family

I failed chemistry too as a rebellion against my parents who made me do it instead of art which I loved - one of the minor misdemeanours of my teenage years

Morning all, well here’s looking forward to another 3 points and for a change looking forward to going today.
I was just reading about the assistant manager at Luton who is a massive blue apparently and gave up his job as a PE teacher in Liverpool to go into coaching at Blackpool which took him to where he is now.
Interesting headgear on that photo @blueloon . Enjoy your visitors @blue1948 - I must admit I’m always happy to get staying guests but equally happy to see the back of them! Thinking of you @Ducans elbow after hearing such sad news. Hope you got the painting done @Gwladysover.
