Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, literally just woke up - think I’m starting to go into hibernation. It always feels better when the blues have won and it makes me look forward to Saturday rather than it being some kind of punishment. Lazy day today then we’re off to some kind of Burt Bacharach thing in Lytham. It seemed like a good idea when I booked it but now I’m not so sure, although I love some of his classic stuff from the 60s, I hope they do it justice.
Hope you’ve slept @peteblue. @anjelikaferrett I don’t know how you’re coping in only 25 degrees 😂. I can’t remember who recommended the book Lessons in Chemistry to me but thank you - I’ve nearly finished it and enjoyed it so much - maybe one for you @jazzy ?
Have a great day 💙

Hi @Val P , I think it was me who mentioned Lessons in Chemistry , it’s a wonderful book glad you enjoyed it , I bought it for my daughter too and she loved it and passed it on. There’s some kind of Tv serialisation of it coming out on 13th October, can’t remember which channel , Apple Tv maybe.

Lessons in Chemistry? No not for me , I failed Chemistry at O level and in any case Mrs J is the scientist in the family

Thanks everyone for your kind words, they are very much appreciated. Both my wife and I slept until about 11 this morning, so totally refreshed. Just appointed a new manager for the pub and spoken with those who were unsuccessful. That takes away a few issues. When my lad gets home to look after my wife I’ll pop out and speak with my mate about his cancer diagnosis. An excellent result for the blues and two very well taken goals, could have been more but mustn’t complain. Have a great day all and again thank you for your support…….

Really pleased that you and Mrs P had a restful night.

So few employers give feedback to unsuccessful candidates. Well done.

Bit of a bummer as we had tickets

Bruce Springsteen has postponed the remaining dates of his tour this year with the E Street Band while he continues to recover from peptic ulcer disease, a few weeks after he postponed eight shows for the same reason.

In a statement posted to social media on Wednesday, Springsteen — who turned 74 last week — said that 14 more dates for the remainder of 2023, across Canada and in Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco and the Los Angeles area, would be postponed “

Oh that's so disappointing.

One for @blue1948 , I came across this quite randomly while reading something online, I recall you said you and your wife went to bed early, it’s seems to work 🙂

“The World Happiness Report has consistently found that Finland tops the rankings when it comes to contentment. But it’s not all about saunas, ice swimming and sautéed reindeer. A survey of sleep data from 72,000 people in 26 countries from sleep app SleepScore Labs found that the average Finn sleeps for at least seven hours and five minutes, longer than most other nations.”

Good to hear Pete.

It reminds of a post I received in one of Nikki's threads. The gone to heaven one iirc, from a friend on here, and in the real world.

"Mark, Evertonians are a family. we dont always agree, but we are always here" Sommet like that anyrate. Cherish your long, deserved kip. Our bodies know more about what we need than we do usually.

Hope Mrs Pete enjoys her visit to the pub later. But, as I have said to you in private, look out for yourself mate.

I read that "Finns sleep on average seven hours and five minutes longer than most other nations " I must get those new glasses .
I think we are solar energized a bit like the old farmers who worked dawn 'til dusk .
