Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

It's the sound of the Westcountry Fred. I still get goosebumps when I listen to it . No explanation but something stirs in me. I guess you can take the boy of Westcountry but not Westcountry out of the boy.

This particular track is about Kitty Jay the last witch to be burnt at the stake on Dartmoor.
You weren't her defence lawyer by any chance?:)

I’m OK thanks, Fred. Decided to put myself on the bench for a couple of days. I overstepped the mark, this thread is, after all, the faith in humanity thread and temporarily lost my faith in humanity and felt that in some way I had let Karl down. I’ll be back to torment you, don’t worry. ;)

Oh G, this was my fault not yours, you did nothing incorrect and I feel terrible that you thought you did. I am really sorry for anything I posted but very glad you are back…again apologies……mea culpa…..

I think you should offer an open house if she is ever near your pub ,the least you could do for wounding a ladies pride !:D

The bonfire has been built by the farmer, I’ve prepared all of the fireworks and they are laid out in running order in the back of my car, it’s wet and will probably rain even more. BBQ hut has been fired up, outside bars directly from the cellar and the hut will be operating. We have the bonfire and fireworks in the field right next door to the pub with our own car park closed to accommodate attendees. We don’t let anyone go into the field (H&S) and I normally drive in then take the fireworks out for firing as we need them, but the farmer, in depositing the pallets using his extra large tractor, has churned up the mud so much and deep that even my Range Rover may not get through the mud ruts. My wife won’t be going down due to the weather though. I’ll go down at 6pm and see if I can get the car onto the field otherwise there will be lots of fetching and carrying, fortunately a couple of regulars will be helping me. Enjoy your night guys…..

Well I called that earlier. Just a shame we couldn't hold out another 5 minutes. Got to say that for me, it's on Dyche for not making any changes . Again. Plus sitting on a 1-0 lead. Didn't watch the game, but going by the match thread which I poked my nose into from time to time, it seemed almost inevitable.

20% possession but seemed we had the better chances so the 3 minute highlights should be quite good.

You mean you can't go and roast your chestnuts? That's no fun:)

Enjoy mate. There has long been an unofficial ban on fireworks in our village. It is surrounded by livestock and stables, and everyone seems to have a pet! The football club about 2 miles away have a large display, which we can see, and hear, but not loud enough to freak the animals. In fact, the dog and cats (in the olden days), would sit upstairs and gaze at the lights, tracing the flares and rockets with their paws.
