Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I’m OK thanks, Fred. Decided to put myself on the bench for a couple of days. I overstepped the mark, this thread is, after all, the faith in humanity thread and temporarily lost my faith in humanity and felt that in some way I had let Karl down. I’ll be back to torment you, don’t worry. ;)

I never cease to be amazed at your openness to new music Fred. Genuinely it's a credit to you.
Personally I prefer to troll through my memory banks and record collection of 60s to 90s.
Nostalgia rules pour moi.
Same here. My kids have introduced me to some newer bands/artists - who aren't that new now but other than that I stick with the old stuff!

Good morning all on this dark morning here in Finland .I hope all are well and had a good night .Up for the match today as we are getting into a ryhthm ,I hope I haven't put the mockers on our game ! Have great day all .
We are of to the wife's parents grave to place candles and pine branches ,we do it twice a year .Christmas is the other time . Stay safe and strong as there are more viruses about .COYB
I'm trying not to get too excited about Everton because they always seem to let me down whenever I feel we've turned a corner. Brighton are a very good team too. They seem to have ab excellent scouting system for players and managers alike. Would be content with a draw and another solid performance tbh.

I share my Spotify account with my son and when my yearly figures came out I was surprised to see that I was in the top 5% of Red Rum Club fans. As for Gerry Cinnamon - when I first heard Belter I loved it and played it for son and hub who looked blank and unimpressed. Fast forward a couple of years and son and mates are going to watch him in Liverpool.

Good morning all. For the second day in a row it isn't raining and the sun is out. Mr F had a lovely birthday. We are waiting for son to arrive- he should be here in about an hour. Daughter is out for the day/night celebrating her and her boyfriend's third anniversary. I'm not convinced about the relationship, it's had a few rocky moments in the last few months and, even after 3 years, she still hasn't met any of his family.
I'm mildly excited about the match today - I'm trying not to get too optimistic- it never ends well🤣.
Have a great day all, come back @Gwladysover!

Me too Anj. But the last couple of years I've really enjoyed seeing the new (to me) bands at Glasto

Mainstream music has become very boring and samey, but seeking out these new bands has almost given me a new purpose if that makes sense. I probably spend 5/6 hours a day on it.

It's all about mindset.

Oh G that's sad.

I can't agree at all that you overstepped any imaginary boundary .

I often talk about politics and in a derogatory fashion towards the Tories. In no way is meant as a personal insight to Pete or whoever - it's just the sort of stuff that we would chat about if we met up in a cafe or pub.

I'm 100% sure that Pete wasn't affronted by your totally innocent remark.

This thread is so much better when you are involved. I love your humour , photos and insight.

Discovered Red Rum Club a few weeks ago. There's another good scouse band called Crawlers.

Honestly never heard of Gerry Cinnamon so will look him up.

I like both Jazz. But when I've had a few I always seem to veer to my old faves like Yes, Genesis and later bands like Joy Division and The Cure.

There's another new band I've become quite keen on called Picture Parlour. Another girl band but the lead singer is a scouser who used to play for Everton. She has the most amazing voice, almost Janice Joplin like.

You should try and open your mind to new stuff mate. There's some great stuff out there. Doesn't mean you have to give up on your old favourites.
Just bought some tickets for "modern " music. Me and Mrs J going to see Seth Lakeman.
