Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning everyone,

Great win yesterday but unfortunately I still feel pretty yuk.

I spent some time researching the car crash that @Armaghtoffee referenced and which is causing him so much sadness , terrible, really tragic.

I feel a lazy day today but I could never lay in bed all day ( well I guess I could if I was really ill ) but will need to keep clear of mum for fear of infecting her

So I think it will be a day of sport on TV pour moi.

Tintin is an amazing dog. Really empathetic with medical conditions. Mum has a a bad knee and when he gives over he goes straight to her and starts gently nudging her knee.

One of Mrs Js many sisters died from pancreatic cancer and stayed with us before she she passed. Tintin was only 1 then and would take himself off to her bedroom and so gently touch her stomach with his nose.

Now he is just laying next to me cuddling me , which he rarely does.

Such a gorgeous boy.

Anyway have a lovely day everyone.

Very similar impact with my old man, too. I have a fair few bottles of good stuff in the house, but I haven't had a short in a long time now.

Beer, wine, brandy, rum or gin don't have the same influence at all, so I’m not sure what it is.
Fortunately alcohol has never made me aggressive. If it did I'd give it up in an instant.
A few glasses of wine and a cold beer in summer or Guinness down the pub is fine for me, makes me mellow and sleepy.

Incredibly rare for me to drink shorts ( maybe a gin and tonic) .

However my month of abstinence will be worth it when I buck the trend and on New Year's Eve have a few rum punches on the beach in Grenada.

Enjoy responsibly everyone lol

For me, it is only scotch, and even then it's only a small minority of times (often it's the opposite). However, it isn't worth it hence the abstinence.

To be fair, my relationship with alcohol in general is a pretty good one: I like a drink, but I honestly can't remember the last time I was 'properly' drunk.

Anyway, it's time to take the dog for a walk before choosing whether to go to the Cenotaph or mass.

Animals can be so intuitive. When we were growing up my friend had a ginger cat. It hated everybody. There was no chance of you being able to stroke the hissing, snarling monster. However, her younger brother, who had Down's Syndrome could do anything with the cat. He would carry the cat around under his arm and the cat never raised a paw in anger towards him.

Good morning all. It's cold and clear here today. A bit of frost but gorgeous blue skies. I love these kind of mornings. I'm so sorry @Armaghtoffee for the sadness you are feeling and the devastating loss to the families involved.
No plans today although daughter has requested a Sunday dinner- we haven’t had one for a while so I'll do that. What's the stance on Yorkshire puddings here? In the North East they have them with every kind of meat. My mother in law used to serve huge ones as a starter. This came as a big surprise to me on my first visit - I was wondering where the rest of my dinner was!
I'll probably go to the gym later this morning.
Have a good day x

Same with me. I just get a bit giddy then fall asleep.😀

Hope you get better soon. Az granny Clampet used to say. Drink this for 14 days and you'll be as right as rain
