Instantly transported back more than 50 years. A mate’s bedroom and smuggled bottles of Strongbow. Was in touch with the same lad at Xmas, though he’s down south now. A meet up for golf arranged for summer.

Also bought tickets for Brian Cox's "Horizons" show as it's in Sofia in April. I assumed as it was announced a few days ago itself there'd be a lot of free seats, but nah, it's already like 60% full, 4 months in advance. Similar to how Jimmy Carr was here in a small venue and it was booked to the brim instantly - I never assumed my fellow Bulgarians would have interest in these acts!

I’m for that at the end of the month and really looking forward to it. He always leaves you feeling very small like a mere spec of dust rattling about the universe 😀
 
St Kitts today , birthplace of one of my musical heroes, Joan Armatrading. So on our way to the beach I casually asked the taxi drivers if he had heard of her. He replied of course she came from my village, the same village that Marcus Rashfords family came from and he has built a school for the kids.

Great place .

Morning all, cold here but on the plus side it’s a bright and sunny morning. We’re currently watching Mr. Bates v the Post Office. Regular readers may recall I used to work part time in our local PO on the shop side. The postmaster would regularly be up til gone midnight balancing his books but a new computer system was on the way. I was offered a job behind the counter to assist him on Wednesdays so he could make an early start with the accounting. I refused as I didn’t have the confidence and the thought of a new computer system frightened the life out of me. The “unpleasantness “ which resulted in my leaving was brought back, all too vividly last night as the episode featured a raid on the Post Office, I sat with jumper over my head.
