Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I do love a male voice choir .In fact I have a few albums .
The Cornish are Celtic mate. You'll find that in every town and fishing village.

Fortunately local culture and heritage is still strong down here which is one of the many things I love about it. They take the Floral Dance very seriously in Helston and pretty much the whole town turn out to either watch or take part, even the youngsters as you will see below.

Good afternoon. I hope ypu are all OK. We have sunshine. Wooo hoo! We also have Virgin Media digging up the road outside our house. Temporary traffic lights, the lot. It should be fun when I try and go out later.
Lovely pic @Armaghtoffee. Is that close to where you live? I'm not sure if I have mentioned that Mr F and I have booked a couple of days in Belfast in October. Very much looking forward to it.
Chris had an appointment this morning to check everything is progressing as it should. They were very pleased with him. The skin graft is now healing well and the physio suggested he started trying to wiggle his ankle and put weight on his foot for a short time each day. I am so happy about this.
I have spent most of this morning on the Civil Service pensions website trying to choose a retirement date. The choice is go in 2 years or 3. Is an extra year in work worth an additional £5k on the lump sum? Answers on a postcard please!🤣
The more I read about 777 Partners the more I despair and the angrier I become with Moshirir. How did he think they were suitable and how did he become a) an accountant and b) a billionaire because he seems to be a total idiot.
Hope you're OK @Terrarian and @Vegas Toffee Girl, how's things with you?
My answer would depend on how much you enjoy your job. I couldn’t wait to go in the end and lost financially to do it. A year goes quickly when you’re working but 10 times faster when you’re retired. I’ve never regretted going early tbh - 9 years for me this month x

I doubt very much that's true AT.
The City Centre itself is tiny. From City Hall (right in the centre) to the end of the commercial sector is 15 mins walk in all directions.

As regards the terror tours, Falls and Shankill etc, is 10 mins drive out from the centre. Belfast is a lot smaller than you think.

Yes there are things to do like Titanic Tour etc but the actual city itself is very compact.

I actually really enjoy my job. I get satisfaction out of it in that I can stop people who should never be within a million miles of children or vulnerable adults from working with them. However, like everything, it's all the associated b*llsh*t and poor leadership that really gets you down - and our useless IT system.
