Good afternoon all. Not much happening- my chilled Bank Holiday continues. I've been to the gym and, although I haven't lost the weight I wanted to lose pre - wedding, I'm down about 20lbs from my heaviest so some progress has been made!
To add to the nudity conversation, a few years ago, pre COVID Mr F and I were on holiday in a very quiet part of Ibiza. We were staying in a hotel run by a lovely Italian family and the beach was a short but steep walk down a cliff. The first morning we ventured down there we were greeted with a cheery Ola! by an elderly (about 80) Spanish nudist. We gave him his privacy and walked a bit further along the beach. The following day there were more. It seemed to be the meeting place for elderly nudists. My only thoughts were good for them. Not doing anybody any harm.
In other news a bit of drama with Chris last night. He had to go back to the hospital- the drain in his leg had become blocked. However all is well and he's back home now.

You learn to live with the distance although sometimes we run out of something and have a trip to get it ,lucky we have lots of storage so whenever we open something I put it on the list and get one next time out so we have a hoard of most things that seems to work for us ,it would be nice to have a pub , I have never seen one out in the countryside here they are all in towns and cities . Drink driving is an absolute no no .
It is surprising how you get used to nudity in the home ,I would never dream of going to a nudist beach but I am comfortable now with sauna culture ,when my son ( who had never seen me naked ) came we wore trunks but we visited the family summer home and he went with the boys but not me and went naked ,upon getting back home he said he would never go the sauna again with trunks so we went naked the last time . If you think playing sports all the lads get into the showers after a game ,so what is the difference ?

I remember orienteering in Sweden in 1980 and met up with orienteering friends . The wife was Swedish and she explained that casual nudity is accepted at events, getting changed, swimming in a lake mainly , as it was regarded as “a private family type occasion “ although there were thousands of people.

I think it's a European thing to be honest.

We have Dutch friends and they thought it hilarious that I used a modesty towel when I changed on the beach.

Similarly in France our neighbors took us to the beach and as soon as we got there stripped off .

They seem a lot less inhibited about nudity.

Good news that Chris is back home and we wish him well ,my youngest is called Chris .
Yes as @jazzy says it is not a British thing for some reason ,the reason for the cold countries could be twofold ,firstly they use the sauna which is first and foremost an economical way ( fuel wise )to wash the whole family and perhaps secondly after a long often very hard winter it is a way of getting the most from the summer months .
I have said on here before that in times gone by the family would sauna then after they washed in water that was warmed by the coals they would wash their clothes and dry them in the remaining heat to wear again the next day .
Finland is quite wealthy now but in the last few centuries they were extremely poor ,when I came to Finland we went to Estonia which was just out of Communist rule and so were very poor ,but in Tallinn there were lots of pretty well dressed girls ( I was told about them -I obviously wasn't looking myself !) my wife seen me (Oops )and said that they were probably the only decent clothes they had .That was not so not that long ago and now there are the likes of Ukraine and others all as badly off.

Evening everyone, it’s been a lovely bank holiday weekend weather wise. Went round to see daughter and family this afternoon. Jess was playing with her dolls and even persuaded Hannah to join her, even though at 11 she is far too old and sophisticated.lol Conversation went: Jess “ Nanny, pretend you are the shopkeeper, Hannah pretend we are sisters”
Hannah “ We are sisters”
Jess” I know, but can’t you just pretend for the game”

As to the nudity thing, it’s okay as long as it doesn’t frighten the horses and I don’t have to join in. Here’s my idea of a bathing costume by the way.

I was going to say evening but I’ve just noticed it’s gone midnight so the first to wish you good morning. Been busy this weekend (well my husband has) building a small pergola for the corner of the garden. We got it in kit form and it’s made of bamboo so is quite rustic and organic to look at which I love but it’s driving Mr P mad due to it’s absence of perfect right angles and straight lines. I certainly won’t be sitting nude underneath it but admire anyone with the confidence to do so. I was once snorkelling in Greece and almost bumped into an elderly German nudist guy. I thought I’d discovered a new species for a minute.
Let’s hope for more of the same good weather but sitting outside in the sun is very tempting for one or even two of my lemon beers, or gnats piss as @Barnfred 55 referred to them as

Good morning all on this lovely day ,I hope all had a good night and have a perfect day today .It would be nice to hear that @Terrarian is over the bout of headaches he was enduring . Tuesday is lemon and ginger tea as the wife can't have dairy until noon with the tablets she takes ,I get them from a Middle Eastern shop we have ,they also stock PG tips on our request ,I buy za'atar which is a blend of spices that my missus loves in scrambled eggs .Have a great day all.COYB

We once went to a party celebrating the 1st May in the middle of the kitchen was a hot tub with two old men siting naked ,they were Sedish speaking Finns ,it took me by surprise .

Good morning all. I'm confused as to where all this good weather you've all experienced is coming from!We've had a few hours of sunshine intermingled with torrential rain and the occasional thunderstorm. Yesterday was particularly freakish. When we left the gym the rain was like a monsoon. 3 miles down the road when we got home, bright sunshine and Mr F reporting that it had not rained at all.
Back at work today - I've just booked a week off from 20 May. Bruce Springsteen and a wedding in the same week! It's going to be exciting. I've also found out that my hairdresser has quit hairdressing and gone to work on the family farm- as you do! So my pre- wedding hairdo will be by somebody who has never done it before. I'm not usually that fussy but I'm going to ask for a consultation with the new person because some hairdressers have absolutely no idea what to do with curly hair.
Anyway, have a lovely day all.

…I have a nudity story. Back in the days when I was actually getting paid for playing footy, the team reached a cup final so we went for pre-match sauna/spa. I was only 18 but my hamstrings had already become troublesome so I was sent for a massage.

Lies on the bed with just a towel covering my bits and a topless lady comes in and starts applying oil to my legs. 18 years old and my Nerves gone, I went into the sauna were a couple of my teammates were sitting, I noticed 2 totally naked lady’s sitting opposite. I couldn’t hack it so got myself out and into the cold plunge only for one of the girls to follow me in. Wasn’t sure where to look as we chatted but she was very polite.

Towelled-up, into the seating area where a topless lady poured coffee into my cup. Young and naive but I’ve never forgotten that place some 50 years ago

I don't think i called them gnat's piss Val. I may have mentioned something about gnats piss being stronger though.

I quite like those summer berry ciders on a nice sunny day, with a wedge of lime squeezed into them.
