Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hi folks. Another nice day here. You've all got me feeling very nostalgic for Lark Lane. If I didn't end up in town, socialising was always Woolton Village or Lark Lane.
I've finished today's overtime, tomorrow to go and a week off. I'm actually excited about the wedding. It's the first time I've allowed myself to feel like that. Daughter and I are getting our nails done tomorrow afternoon. Also, there is the small matter of Mr Springsteen on Wednesday!
I'm not sure if I told you but we were supposed to go on a cruise at the end of June with our friends. We cancelled because I couldn't possibly have gone away not knowing what Chris's outcome would be. Given that everything seems to be OK with him, we will most likely rebook it after the wedding. So that's exciting too.
Have a lovely day everyone x

Probably what I miss most about Liverpool tbh. Me and the missus often took the short stroll across Sefton Park to spend the day eating and drinking on Larky. We were so blessed to live in that part of the City for 30 years.
I know we, as a family, are very fortunate to live where we are. After town, we may stop off at Sefton CC to watch the end of the game if we're not too late.

Good morning all on this fine sunny day .I hope all are well after a good night and that @peteblue has managed a few winks .
Without being dramatic this biopsy got me thinking ,knowing that it is a test for some cancers it dawned on me that it could be serious ,strangely I was not sad .
I have had a good life and my fears of being incapable before going would not happen so I am quite at ease with it all .Hopefully it is just a doctor being thorough and covering all bases but if it isn't so be it .I would only hope I could show some of the grace and inspiration of our own Karl .
On a less down to earth note ,it is nice to see Klopp going albeit the papers are full of him at the moment ,as he will certainly be a hard act to follow .
I sincerely hope the new guy will be Ten Hag the second .Have a great day all .COYB

Stay positive Blue……

Woolton and Lark lane , I use to go there back in the day, first wine bar I ever went in was on Lark lane I thought I was dead posh,

Woolton was great for a pub crawl Coach and horses coffee house baby elephant the grapes and think it was called Bodegas ,

There use to be some fights with the gangs of lads from Speke and Garston in the 80s, not now with CCTV everywhere , was a good time growing up back in the day

That place went down the hill! The bouncers from there killed an older man (ended up as manslaughter) after launching him down the rear steps.

It was frequented by the dross from Speke, Garston, Halewood, Netherley and Naylorsfield, so they regularly took a robust approach so to speak.

Sadly, Woolton Village isn't what it once was: The Cobden is still good, as is the Derby Arms, but the County Court is long gone and The Gardner's is now poor.

The Woolton route you just described was pretty much our route as well. We went for a meal in The Elelphant once for a 21st birthday. We drank Blue Nun and I thought I was so sophisicated!

There were a few good pubs in Gateacre as well.

When I was at primary school - so we are going waaaay beack, the parents of a girl in my class were the licensees of The Coach and Horses. It was therefore very popular with the great and the good of St Austin's school PTA 🤣
