Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Evening all, after working in Lytham this afternoon and being chauffeured by Mr P we decided to stay for a bite to eat and then drive home via the Blackpool illuminations. I have to say it was pretty underwhelming given that it was always something to look forward to when I was little, and even when my son was little.

Thank you, as I expected my blood results were much higher so the practice nurse said I’ve got 6 months to turn it around otherwise I have to start on meds. Having controlled my T2 for 14 years on diet and exercise that was the kick up the 🍑 I needed and I will do as instructed.
I hope things have gone well for your sons mum in law and her biopsy results are favourable x

That reminds me, I need to book a blood test…..

When I worked at Warton for a few years, I bought a lovely apartment within the original Ribby Hall to save living in a hotel. Anyway, my wife would always come up from our home in the Midlands at this time of year and we’d visit the lights in Blackpool. This was only 20 years ago, but at the time they were still stunning and taking a horse drawn carriage up and down the front just added to the magic. I haven’t been there since 2006 but it’s a shame if they are not quite the same as they were…..

Thank you - I think the gods were smirking rather than smiling, as the leak stopped on the Haldex system when they replaced the filter thank goodness (I know I sound like I know what I am talking about) but the bill was still a four figure sum 😢 - ouch. Hopefully happy motoring for a while now.
If it was the Haldex unit it would £4000 so they were smiling ,make sure they check it every 20,000 miles in future. Just a check no more is needed or perhaps a top up but no more big bills !

Good morning all on this miserable day not made any better by the impending result from over the water . I hope all are well and had a good night . They say we get what we deserve ,well the states is certainly going to .I watch very little of politics as you all know but the fact that it was impossible to watch the news yesterday without doing so meant I was able to see Harris ,she was as convincing as King Cnut at turning the sea back . May the gods help us all with that clown running the race of total idiots .
Have a great day all COYB

His influence and tenure will have consequences far beyond the American coastline.

I’m really not as keen now to spend the day watching the news in the background while working.

Glad to hear your results were no worse than expected and you have time to turn it around without meds. I had high cholesterol about fifteen years ago. and was offered statins but refused as one of the side effects is headaches. I chose the alternative low fat diet, no alcohol etc and have managed to keep it under control.
I don’t know how the results went for Grandma as it wasn’t mentioned when we dropped Harry and Minnie off and I didn’t like to ask. Given she has just had a bladder op I think the news may not have been that good. I do so hope I’m wrong.

I cannot fathom the news rolling in from America this morning. As @jazzy sagely noted yesterday, time for us to focus on our own lives, doing the small insignificant things that are so important to us regardless of their place in the bigger picture.

we have everton to worry about!

no it’s the other country’s around the world who feel it for orange head taking over

When I was young I always wanted to go to Blackpool, I thought it was the ultimate holiday destination (my horizons have always been rather limited 🤣) but my Dad would never go declaring “I’m not going anywhere where you can’t get a fag paper between the deckchairs!” I never did get there, probably best I keep my illusions.
