Thanks, it’s been an interesting day, Mrs bl has gone from glowing with pride and happiness as she frolics in the garden, to a nervous wreck now as she’s gone out , probably for the night . All we can do is keep making the best decisions for her and keep our fingers crossed.

Cats are marvellous creatures. While I dont have my own, loads pass through my garden and I try to befriend each one. A bit of attention and some food and the are regular visitors. Fantastic rodent deterrent but that is secondary for me, I just love getting to interact.

Dave played 6 won 2.

To beat both in one night when I wasn't 100% ... well I'm happy to retire now Fred.

Good morning all on the black morning yet .We are forecast higher than normal again for the foreseeable , our species roses flowered three times this year ,instead of just once then we had spring weeds growing again last week until the snow .
I was never a sceptic about Global warming more just a relaxed view that this has all happened before but the apparent rate of change here is startling ,
I hope all are well when they rise from their nightly dream session and experience a lovely day .COYB

Morning Pete how are things for you ?

Not great but getting by. My wife is still physically healthy but her head is now completely empty, no conversation, can’t distinguish between objects ( the other day there were only three items on the table in front of her, I asked her to pass me the sky tv buttons, she looked blank then offered up an empty tea mug, I then said the black buttons and pointed at it, she offered up an empty water glass)…it’s soul destroying but one day at a time…….

So so sorry to hear that ,it surely must be the cruelest illness of all . Your wife is so lucky to have a man like you and I am sure she knew that ,I like to believe she still does but cannot tell you .Stay strong that man .

Sport can be strange, sometimes we’re not 100% , relax as we won’t do well, mentally think “ oh well I’ll give it a go , “ change our plans a bit and do well . It’s great that you continue to be competitive, never let that go ! I did a 10k last Sunday and finished 2nd V70, i actually won a prize, at 3 1/2 miles I saw another V70 ahead of me that I’d been talking to so worked hard to get ahead of him. These things usually mean nothing to others but I can understand how pleased you’d be with your results , well done.

I was very restrained and sporting in the hall congratulating my opponents but did stupid little fist pumps in the car driving home!

Morning all, weather still gloomy and the same again tomorrow. Really hope we get the sunshine forecast for Monday as this weather is starting to get me down, it must be awful for anyone who is already struggling with a low mood. This morning I will mostly be gathering my strength. The two youngest grandkids arrive later for a sleepover as their parents are off to a 40th birthday party. The orders from the parents are to keep them off the iPad/phone as much as possible so an afternoon of keeping them entertained ensues. At least It will take my mind off the football every cloud…

On a lighter note with the impending doom and gloom later .Two things, we have had a busy morning as the cat has a mouse in the house ,it is quite pretty with it's white belly and a photo will follow as the cat just wants to play and we are waiting with a bucket to catch and release .
As I was looking for a cable for a project I found my wife's old Sony phone from at least three years out of use , I tried to find a charger to see if it still would work which failed but on pressing the button it came to life with 11% battery !!!!! .It was only retired because it needed updating . I bought it on the net and found it was originally made for the Japanese market all the details were in Japanese ,now I could do it with Mr Google's help but then not .They don't make 'em like they used to .

I’m still undecided on whether to go to the football today , it’s a Cup game . I went to another Shield game Wednesday night , it was a turgid 1-0 win on a freezing night. This morning I volunteered as Timekeeper at my local parkrun , a lovely sunny morning, but again quite cold standing still for 60 mins timing people. I’m just trying to get warm now and older age makes me wary of another 90 mins standing in the cold this afternoon , versus 90 mins of Everton……tough choice

Afternoon everyone, hope alls well today. Good to see @jazzy is getting back into the swing of things, and @blueloon ’s cats are thriving. @peteblue , your devotion to your wife is so touching, I can only imagine what you are going through and you are such a strong person for your friends as well- a remarkable person indeed.
We also started to binge watch Jackal, only to find last night that last two episodes aren’t yet available. I was very sceptical at first - Edward Fox was the type of person I imagined the Jackal to be when I read the book years ago and I couldn’t see how Eddie Redmayne could match it. I always prefer to read a book before I see the film. However once I’d got over my preoccupation with the original film I found myself hooked in. I must say it’s made me want to watch the original again, and I wonder how true to it the ending of this series will be.
Had a nice day yesterday- unfortunately my son and wife have a very nasty stomach bug so we locked them away in our spare room to carry on being sick and took charge of the baby! It was wonderful- we took her to see the horses and met lots of people in the village, danced to some Nat king Cole together and played on the sensory mat. Just kept nipping her upstairs for her feeds and to check on the kids.
Everton on this afternoon- I will watch it but I’m back to never feeling optimistic again. It’s a .

I’m sick of the weather too, it’s just meh - neither one thing or the other. I’m sure you’ll have a great time with the sleep over- can’t wait til we can do this too
