Morning all, lovely crisp morning for a dog walk @Terrarian and that’s what I am off to do in a bit.
My husband read someone’s post on twitter or X (or whatever it is - I came off it when Elon Musk took it over) that they were at the Ipswich game, stayed behind to see the players come out and DCL got on the coach with the rest of them. Who to believe eh? I think I just don’t believe anything anymore, but I do think that we are stuck with Dyche til the new owners come in, he knows he’s a dead man walking and so isn’t invested in making things work at the moment. Dreading going tomorrow night and even more so for Saturday.
Have a great Tuesday everyone 💙

It's crisp, I don't mind cold, I can handle cold and quite enjoy strolls when it is crisp. It is the rain that I can't be doing with. Takes ages for coats to dry and poor Daisy gets saturated and get the whole wet dog smell lol.

We are back from our walk, I don't think she likes it cold though she didn't want to go very far this morning. Our routine seems to have altered slightly, we tend to have a longer walk in the evening as opposed to mornings or at least an equal amount. Bit of a ball ache being soaked at night though.

Enjoy your stroll Val.

Morning all, I take it we got Posh in the Cup then , I haven't read anything yet.

It was very cold outside this morning. I am playing around with the heating to try to get an optimal temperature so i can have heating on without costing a fortune. I saw a gas engineer say he has his set to 15 degrees and leaves it on all day, also turn the boiler temp down. So I have gone to about 75% on the boiler and I'm on 19 degrees, seems to be a good temp.

It doesn't half shoot up when you first turn it on in a morning, you use about 50--70p within half hour, then the rest of the day slows down. I'm using between £1-£1.50 on gas and roughly £1.50 a day on electric.

I bet you have missed my waffling nonsense haven't you :hayee::lol:

Have a good day all.
Great to see you post again T .it is a bit like riding a bike when you heat ,it takes a lot of effort to get started but then not quite as much to keep going .The best temperature is as low as you can live with ,the lower it is the better for your lungs ,far better to wear another layer than turn up the heat .Keep posting /waffling we need you on here or it is just me doing the waffling

Thank you, it was a lovely walk this morning with a gentle little spaniel- a bit different than last week when I got dragged around for 2 hours by a gorgeous GSD/Husky cross - better than going to the gym. I hate the rain too, but luckily for me I have the luxury of not going if it’s raining.

Canada post are on strike here 17th day today, being an x postie took the picketers at my old Depot some pizza and coffee

There are 55,000 post office workers out and the negotiations are not going well , they are not even talking at the moment, I’ve been on many a strike in my 30 yrs I worked there, the government normally legislate back to work but they said they are not going to get involved.

Just got sitting down to read the paper and see that Typhoo Tea are in administration. I didn’t even know they were based on the Wirral. Approaching Christmas must be a horrible time to lose your income but hopefully anyone affected can get a bit of seasonal work to at least tide them over.
Not in Wirral anymore mate, the factory closed in March 2023 ( wiki) it’s one stop on the train from ours. It was a massive site involving other companies but there’s been housing built there over the last few years which is good as it used a brownfield site, but if the worst happens I reckon it’s possibly below sea level. My father in law worked at Cadbury’s on the same site when he left the merchant navy and before he moved to Petrochemical industry further down the Mersey , apparently he lost all his teeth because you could help yourself to all the chocolate as it went passed on the line.

Good morning all on this chilly day -6 and dropping .I hope all are well and have a fine day culminating in a great big grin late tonight .
What happened to Dyche ,he admitted he has made mistakes ! I don't know about the rumours but he was of a different mindset in the presser .He just might be fighting for his life .I don't know if these coaches realise that all the criticism is for their benefit we just want the best for our club ,the same pplies to everyone at the club .As we all realise this chopping and changing is not good for all of us and I wish he could wave a magic wand in his mind and change his tactics ,those same differring ones he claims to have varied all season .
As we know he mentioned that the club had struggled for the last 5 years with a shortage of goals ,is that some sort of excuse ?
I just hope that the Friedkins are working their combined butts off behind the scenes . Have a great day all.

The way our climate is going I wouldn’t be building anything below sea level.

How times have changed when you could lift things off a food production line then to now when things are so tightly regulated. Even so, I for one could not be trusted to have free rein with chocolate.

We haven’t scored goals since the team was shorn of Gylfi, James, Digne and Richarlison. However, Dyche’s downfall this term is his inability to form a competent defence out of Branthwaite, Tarkowski and Pickford. No excuse for that particularly when Dyche makes no attempt to take the game to the opposition. That along with our set piece routines being well found out and Dyche is a dead man walking.

Lovely gesture and solidarity to your strikers!

Good morning. Out out last night was fun. I actually met one of my team mates in real life for the first time so that was nice. One of the others brought her dog Zorro, who is a 14 yr old husky and is a bit under the weather so she didn't want to leave him on his own. We therefore drank in dog friendly pubs all night which was really good - there were a lot of pooches out with their owners. I also discovered, in the absence of Guinness in one pub, Brennans Irish Stout. It was very nice - would recommend. I'm going swimming shortly to hopefully undo some of the calorific damage of last night!
In other news, my niece in Australia had a baby boy last night. He's gorgeous- the first Aussie in the family 🤣
