Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

We started at City Hall, went around the Harland and Wolf Dock, past the Titanic Museum then the University. After that we drove through Shankill Road and Crumlin Road, saw lots of murals and the peace walls built by the army in the 1960s - to keep the two communities apart. There was a lot of stuff. It took just over an hour to do the round trip. You can use the ticket all day.View attachment 289364View attachment 289365
That was the University I went too 😀

From there to Titanic then you really did see all of the City Centre. If you aren’t used to it, it’s an eye opener to see how both communities lived/live cheek by jowl with only murals to demarcate them at times. In fact, where your hotel is situated is right on what would have been a boundary point. Things are much much calmer now of course but good to bring history to life.

It was really interesting and as you say a real eye opener. Being older than you I do remember a lot of what happened. Queens Uni looked lovely. We drove past The Students Union bar too. Was much time spent in there? 🤣

The Student’s Union was much frequented but it is a much more salubrious place than it was in my time. They used to do a pizza and a pint for £2 and I was certainly no stranger to that.

Salubrious was one of a few words I used to impress when I was young along with abstemious and facetious ,they never did me any good ! "Health giving particularly of the atmosphere ," was the meaning I used which you didn't find much of in Liverpool of the sixties !

Evening all, fantastic to travel vicariously and see the sights - keep them coming please! Get in the cage @Barnfred 55 its a once in a lifetime experience.
I wish I had an automatic car - when my back plays up (as it is at the moment) I am dependent on Mr P to ferry me around for distances that I can’t walk. Luckily for me it’s fine more than it’s dodgy.
Lots of rumblings about Dyche going - not sure whether there’s truth in it or whether it’s just wishful thinking. I think that unless we play Peterborough off the park and score a shed full of goals on Thursday (sorry @Gwladysover 😢) the crowd will turn. I think a lot of patience has been shown so far compared to other managers who have felt the wrath of the fans.
Work in the morning but luckily for me it’s from home. Have a great evening everyone 💙

Posh’s defence is shocking, the worst in League One, they’ve let in 46 goals plus another 5 in the Cup so far, if we can’t score against them we’ll never score.

Good morning all on this cold day here more snow is falling and I have to go to our last place to visit the dentist ,thankfully the roads should be good .I hope all had a good night and all have a great day today . We really should win tonight but hopefully that is not enough to save him ,it is a gamble to let him go but I believe it is more of one to have him stay .
I agree with @Val P ,@Barnfred 55 you must do it would I ? I have never been confronted with the choice but I did walk on the ocean bottom before I could swim with a glass bubble helmet and all the fish around .I have snorkelled and seen a small shark if that counts COYB:blush:

I may not get the chance as we're moving onto a different destination today. Rob and I are definitely doing some sort of boating experience but it may not include sharks as there's very few places you can do that. Well see.

Here's the view from the place we've been the last 3 days.

If you weren’t sold on the idea of a shark cage then I would advise against.

I'm astonished at the apathy of the Goodison crowd in relation to Dyche
