Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Oh dear.

Gorgeous day here Fred.

My cousin just sent me a photo from Oakhampton and it was dry there too.

Hopefully the rain stops for you soon.

Shock , horror our local pub is closed all day.
We normally get it first. It's only light rain now. I can hear the gulls and they don't come out until the worst is over so hopefully the rest of the day will be fine. It was torrential earlier.

Just going to get ready to go for lunch. Only have about 20 feet to walk so should be able to crawl home later. ?

Brilliant. I hope you have a lovely lunch and drinks.

Enjoy your lunch Fred. Just take care staggering home later. :)

So much for the old wives tale about the gulls. Just started chucking it down again ;)
With luck it will just be a squally shower and clear up.soon.

I love the sound of seagulls even though they can be a bloody nuisance when you are trying to eat your chips on the quayside and got a lovely surprise when I heard the cry of a couple when I went out early to feed the animals.
We don't usually get them this far inland.

It's stopped already mate. Cornish weather for you.

Right I'm off. Catch up later guys. Enjoy. ;)

Good morning everyone and Merry Christmas!!

No White Christmas here but I suspect @blue1948 is making up for that in Finland.

What's the weather like in the North East @anjlikeaferret, in Scotland @larbert toffee and in the far south west @Barnfred 55 ?

Echoing one of the themes of yesterday it is remarkable how Karl a guy none of us met has brought us all together from far flung areas of the UK and beyond and that our combined humanity and sense of camaraderie and decency keeps us all in touch.

So when I type out this message I am thinking of his family who are spending their first Christmas without him and Fred without his beloved Cal and Roydo without his similarly loved Nikki and @Terrarian and @fandjango who will be spending the day alone.

We have all suffered loss and know the pain that goes with that. And equally we know that when we suffer loss we need support and friendship especially so at Christmas.

So we will be here for each other this Christmas this year , next year and for many many more years.

We will try to cheer each other up if thats needed , bemoan Everton's bad fortune and celebrate the occasional 3 points.

We will do what friends do.

So , I all hope that you have a lovely day or at the very least it is not as painful as you thought it may have been.

Merry Christmas, take care and stay safe in the pandemic.

Merry Christmas gang.

Special mention to @Barnfred 55, @roydo or anyone else who's recently lost someone.

@Terrarian and @fandjango or anyone spending Christmas Day on their own, you've always got company on here.

Let's all raise a glass today to our dear departed friend Karl aka Messy.

All the very best to all of you x

Beautifully said by both.

Cheers to everyone here and to those up in the heavens too.

Good morning. Merry Christmas. Have a lovely day everybody. It's been fun and a joy to get to know you all over the last few months.
In spite of there being no excitable children in this house, I was woken up by this diva who wanted a) her breakfast b) somebody to play with and c) to go out. Worse than a toddler

Ange, I also had to deal with a divo at my mum’s house as her cat woke my daughter up this morning because he was anxious to go out even though we had set up his litter box before going to bed last night so he won’t bother us ?

You must have put that in about 6am looks lovely though. Save me a leg will yer. Turkey crown for me today.

What time are the roasties going in.? Are you using goose fat?. I like mine small and cooked over a lower heat for about 2 hours so they're all lovely and burnt. God I'm getting myself hungry now ?
Thinking about you a lot this morning, Fred. Have a lovely Christmas Day with your neighbours. Make the most of that breast lol xx
