That's the sort of thing Cal would have done. I've drank about a bottle of champagne, half a bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape, and then he brought the Remy Martin XO out and I had a couple of glasses of that. (It was actually Lidl's own brand in a Remy bottle, but I'm not letting on that I know lol)

I've had a grand day. The conversation was good too. And the best bit. We pulled crackers and mine had an Everton key ring inside. They still haven;t told me how they managed to do that.

Fred, how sweet of your neighbours to have cooked the whole turkey so you could have your leg. It seems that while you have lost Cal, you have also gained a new family. May this relationship continue flourishing.

Yeah they have been great. They absolutely loved Cal though and I'm a sort of beneficiary of that.

I've made a decision to stay where I am for at least the next 12 months. 3 months ago when Cal sadly passed away I didn't expect to be able to be so certain about something, but my relationship with them has been a big part of that decision.

Then it seems this was a hidden gift that Cal left for you.

After such a lost that you have encountered this year, it seems to me that staying put for the next year seems like the right decision.
