That made me chuckle. After my long walking day, I could do with a crisp cider for the Arsenal game. Such a beautiful day here but alas work beckons tomorrow.
Not the best photo but I took a stroll around the shore of Lough Neagh this afternoon and it was so quiet bar the bird calls.

Evening everyone, hope the weather is as good where you are as it is here. Mr G. had an appointment at the optician this morning and has been referred for cataract surgery. I didn’t endear myself to him when I said if his appointment coincided with our Liverpool trip he’d have to postpone it!

I did the Bingo again tonight and the pub was absolutely packed for it as usual. It’s mentally tiring calling four games wIth winnings for a line and full house for each game and doing the spiel to go with the numbers, but it’s done and I’ll probably sleep well when I finally get Kay prepared for bed and put my head on the pillow……..
Good morning all on this fine day here .I hope all are well and had a good night .So sorry to hear Mr G has been told he will need surgery @Gwladysover it is one of my worst fears as I can't stand anyone touching my eyes , my Mum had it and said you don't feel a thing ,then there is the benefit of better vision .I wish him well .
We are off to the shops as tomorrow the whole place shuts down for May Day ,it is a big as Xmas here without the presents . Has anyone watched " The Summer Book " with Glen Close ? It is set on an island near our family summer home in the Finnish archepelargo ,we have not been able to find a link yet .

Thanks Blue, cataract surgery is one of my big fears too. I’m not sure I could lie with my face covered. A friend had to go privately because the NHS procedure requires this. I have cataracts but the optician says they are growing slowly so will be years before they cause a problem

Yeah I have had slowly growing cataracts for about 10 years, they’ve actually made my eyesight better to the extent I stopped wearing contacts during Covid and in theory could drive without specs , but don’t. All the experiences I’ve heard from acquaintances regarding cataract surgery have been good , no problems and better quality of life afterwards.Thanks Blue, cataract surgery is one of my big fears too. It was one of the things that i dreaded too but recently I have been assessed for glaucoma and one of the tests was to actually touch your eye with an instrument to test the pressure. They put anaesthetic drops in and I watched the thing come towards me but did not feel anything at all to the extent that I was still waiting to feel it when the guy took it away - no sensation of being touched or discomfort- just nothing. So I can imagine that although real the fear is probably unfounded.Thanks Blue, cataract surgery is one of my big fears too. I’m not sure I could lie with my face covered. Well I've finalised my trip upto the Lakes today for the spreading of my BILs ashes. I'll be staying with my eldest sister for 5 days and my other sister says I deserve a Mutley medal.
My nephew from Poland will be there who I get on really well with and I'll also reconnect with my great niece Mela who is now 21 months. That's gone quick.
I think I'll be ready for my 6 day bender in Liverpool which hopefully involves a glass or two of wine with Jazzy. It coincides with the last match at Goodison and I fully intend to sample the atmosphere in some way.
Anyway, I'm currently enjoying the last of my supplies of strong cider sat in the son waiting on my first BBQ of the summer. Burger and hot dog awaits. Boring I know but it's become a ritual. Cheers everyone. Happy strong cider Wednesday.
