Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning everyone. I've been to the undertakers this morning to try and sort my funeral out so it's exactly as I want it. I don't feel my best today but we all kind of guessed going out yesterday might take its toll. I'm not religious so I'm having 3 songs of choice. Between song 1 and 2 I'm going to have a nice eulogy that I will write and hopefully there will be a family member wanting to read it. Between song 2 and song 3 we will have a eulogy that me and my friends will write. This one will hopefully be funny but I will also try and keep it respectful as my 92 year old Grandma will hopefully be there. The man in the undertakers had a good sense of humour so I think I will be in safe hands. I'm going to try and read a few forums so I can get back up to date.

…..had a difficult week myself- Eye trouble over a few days resulted in a pretty nasty detached retina. Had quite a lengthy op on Tuesday. and now have to lie on my right side for two weeks to give it any chance of healing.

Frustrating & very uncomfortable time, Mrs Eggs doing a great job looking after me & keeping me in check. It’s going to be a long road back.

I'm glad you have still been able to come on here as you are in the higher category of sense talkers when it comes to the Everton forums. You've nearly got me converted to your views on loaning players out. I still think in the right circumstances it is a tool to be used in but it should be properly thought through.

You will get there. Mrs Eggs sounds like she is doing a great job.

Seems like you were taking care of very important matters this morning organizing all the arrangements for the funeral, not an easy task but knowing that you will be honor and memorialize the way you wish hopefully brings some comfort to your mind and heart ?

Wow. You are amazing. I have nothing but admiration for the way you are dealing with this.

Hope you are resting now at home after what must have been a difficult meeting at the undertakers. It makes sense to at least sort out some the details of a funeral (favourite songs, poems etc), to make it easier for the family. I am sure yours will be a fitting tribute to one of the most courageous people I have ever known - even though we have met only from a distance.?

My favourite band is Oasis so all 3 songs by them.

Cast No Shadow on the way in

Listen Up mid through

Live Forever on the way out

I contemplated z-cars but decided against it. 8 of my mates will be involved in carrying the coffin and some flowers in. The 6 on the coffin have already confirmed. Just 2 more to ask as I wanted to make sure it was allowed. In a way because of the banter I have with the lads I want it to pour with rain so they get soaked. However in reality I don't as they are allowing me to do my thing and it will be an amazing last journey.

I'm no more courageous than the next person I just like to type a lot but thank you your praise means a lot to me.

I needed to do it so at least I can say goodbye to people in a way that I would like. Apparently quite a lot of older terminally people do it these days and it's much less rigid in structure.

Love Oasis, Stop crying your heart out is a favourite and has helped me through some difficult times. I have already sorted the details of my funeral and am having ZCars but the string arrangement. Your comment about the pouring rain made me smile. At the funeral of a friend as we waited outside the crematorium just as the hearse bearing him passed by - out of nowhere came a freezing rain shower, he would have enjoyed the joke and I’m not sure he hadn’t pre-arranged it?.

Great song choice my man.

Listen Up, Rockin Chair and The Masterplan are the songs that Noel really wished he had put out as singles.

@Sassy Colombian were Oasis big in Colombia/US? I’m guessing you have heard of them but but wouldn’t know much of their stuff.

@Armaghtoffee I like early Muse and Kasabian, not so keen on newer stuff. Stereophonic, Travis, The Verve. Basically all the stuff a 40 yo should like. I actually thought Blur were good as well but for obvious reasons didn't follow them so closely. Sound Oasis live twice in 2009 including their final performance at V.
We’re in the same ball park age wise and music wise.

You left the Manics off your list but I shall forgive your misdemeanour ?

Treat yourself to The Divine Comedy. Do a deep dive and lie back and listen. Unlike any band going at all.
