Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I’ve always said, less so the last couple of seasons mind , but I feel so privileged to be there when I hear it as at that moment I genuinely wouldn’t be anywhere else.
Sadly I've not been since the siren was introduced, but I agree it sounds great when I've heard it on TV. I love the CGI video of the new stadium where there's a POV image walking through the hospitality area and then out onto the pitch on match day. Gives me goosebumps every time I see it. If anybody knows the one I'm talking about it would be good if you could post it in here for Sassy to see.

Adding the siren is probably the only thing that has managed to unite all Evertonians in the last 10 years or so. I haven't heard of one person who doesn't like it. Whoever came up with it needs promoting to the board. ;)

I feel your pain, I really do . Deep breathing before you get out and Just practice your polite nod and tactical sips of a drink for during the meal and that should help get you through that bit at least ! Planning anywhere nice ?

My mum passed away pre covid I can only imagine I’d have had to fit one of those old fashioned swimming pool ‘foot baths ‘ by the front door to ensure it was covid safe !
How are you doing Harry? Got the impression you were going through a bit of a difficult time prior to Christmas. Hope all OK now mate. ;)

Sassy. From your recent posting I can tell that you have certain doubts about this position. To a man (and woman) everybody on here has been urging you to apply for this job, and that is not something I would necessarily disagree with. The process of applying and interviewing will be a great experience for you, and will also enable you to find out more about the position and what it entails. If you don't apply you may forever wonder what might have been.

But if you apply and are subsequently offered the position, I would urge you to seriously consider the pros and cons before accepting. The two most important questions are what you would need to give up if you took on the new role, and whether this is the right time for you. My experience tells me that this is not a once in a lifetime opportunity. Other's will present themselves to you; maybe not this year or even next year, but they will come.

I can't stress how important work/life balance is in contributing to your health and happiness. For me, that is more important than ambition and the additional wealth that usually accompanies it. Personally, I fully acknowledge that I definitely under achieved in my career, but I still undertook a very demanding job and feel I got the balance just about right. I don't have any regrets as Cal and I lived a very fulfilling life. As I said in an earlier post, I fully expect you to make the right decision for you at this moment in time. It's important that you aren't influenced by people who don't have a full insight to your situation and, more importantly, your feelings. ??
Wise words Fred. My own view is that you ate no worse off by applying. You can always say no if you get to the point of being offered the job. Agree about work/life balance too. A couple of years ago I went part time. Only dropped 3 hours a week but now work 4 longer days and have Wednesdays off. Best thing I've ever done.

Good morning lads and lasses on this beautiful morning ,I hope are doing fine and slept well.
Snow work yesterday and it was near 0° so very heavy which gave me a good workout we have a holiday here on Thursday so off shopping which should be fun!!
Seems we have a plan for the squad "according to all sources "( start the music ) , Digne is a conundrum , yes he is good but for me he has never thrilled as Bainsey did ,despite all the data, he is not happy so he must go .I think we might have a good window as there have obviously been plans afoot for a while ,we just possibly are having the clearout we all deem necessary . COYB
I don't want to see Digne leave but it doesn't look like our manager is going to play him. Inter are interested in a loan move so it kind of makes sense if we could do a loan swap with one of their players who would improve our lot for the rest of the season.

Hopefully by the end of the season that horrid manager will have gone and we can bring Lucas back into the fold once more. Given our current standing we are lucky to have a player of his calibre and it would be sad to see him go.

Aye all good mate , being honest I’ve got a friend in a similar situation to messy so found it difficult is all .
Sorry to hear about your friend but good that you are OK in yourself.

It's hard seeing somebody you care for go through such an experience. Until you are faced with that situation yourself it's impossible to understand how it must be from their point of view, knowing that your time in this world will shortly be up. All you can do is be there for them.

Sky said last night that Everton are not interested in a loan deal. They only want a sale for Digne. Very sad if true.

I'll be honest, I was prepared to give Benitez a chance and the benefit of the doubt. I have 100% changed my view. He's showing the man management skills of Koeman I.e an arrogant bully. The sooner he's gone the better.

It is a real turmoil to be honest ,I want one thing and one thing only that is to see the team on the up .So we will all have different views on it but want the same . As anything in life tho' there are two sides and I feel the talk in the press a while ago matching Lucas with a few teams might have unsettled him and both have taken advantage of that ,him and Benitez for their own ends .
Players come and go but none will leave that empty feeling that Bally did . The days of loyalty are as long as the pay cheque lasts .
