Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

View attachment 151837This lovely lady would have been 61 today. The world was a far better place with her in it. Miss you so much babe. xx
Fred, what a beautiful woman Cal was! And for what you have told us, not just on the outside but in the inside too. I can’t even phantom how hard today must be for you, so many emotions you must be encountering at the moment but today on her birthday let all the good memories of previous celebrations enfold you so you can remember her fondly along with her parents. She is gone from this earth but never from your hearts. Xx

I don't know mate. Cal used to pick my clothes. In fact she probably did 90% of my clothes shopping. She argued that she was the one who had to stand next to me when we were out and she didn't want to be seen hanging out with a scruffbag. Suited me as I loathe shopping.

I draw the line at food though.
It seems my hubby and you have something in common. He doesn’t care about going shopping for clothes so he pretty much lets me choose 90% of his clothes too and like Cal I don’t want to be hanging with a scruffbag and I have great taste so it is a win for both.

He also draws the line at food that’s why our household could never go fully vegetarian because that carnivorous wouldn’t let me.

Are you in the Travelodge?
Yes. Cheap and cheerful. We'll cheap anyway.

Breakfast was a bit of an episode. The Kingsman is short staffed due to covid so isn't open for breakfast. So I found a greasy spoon 10 minutes down the road. Heads pounding with the scouse accent already and I've only been back a day. ?

Also found out that both of the 2 Indian restaurants that used to be over the road from the hotel have closed. So that's my tea/supper scuppered

Dull and misty here today. Son and family are coming for Christmas tea today. They couldn’t come before due to positive tests. Am going to put some Christmas stuff out - small tree, plates and dishes etc. even have some crackers so will be a bit of a celebration. Just hope Everton don’t put a dampener on it. Hope those suffering with pain find it eased today (even the self-inflicted @anjelikaferrett lol) Have a good day all.
Lovely idea to have a late Christmas meal. Hope you have a great day.

Wow, you are really in my neck of the woods. Take a walk down Beechwood Road and head for the prom. My Dad's house is one of the ones on the estate you go past once you've turned down towards the prom. I haven't been in the place that replaced the Guulshan. It was a Turkish Restaurant for a while. That was nice but not tried it since it changed again. Didn't know Madhari had closed. The food in The Greenhills is alright but it might be a bit of a hike if you walk. I'm quite fond of the Chinese on the corner of Fletcher Drive - Sang Sangs. Take out only though.

Good morning/afternoon Blues.

Still early here in Asheville and it is looking like the snow clouds are starting to move in, I’m really not looking forward to the snow although my daughter better don’t hear me or I will be crucified. I’m getting ready to go to the gym before the match so I accomplish my workout goals for this week then I’ll be back hopefully to watch a win by Everton.

I hope your hangover has improved already @anjelikaferrett

Have a lovely Christmas dinner with your son and daughter-in-law dear @Gwladysover

I’m sorry to hear about your wife’s family being sick @blue1948 I wish them a speedy recovery.

@jazzy i hope your morning has been a productive one with all the task you need to get completed before your guess arrive.

@Terrarian enjoy your steak. It seems the hubby was also in your mind frame because last night he showed up with Ribeye steaks for dinner tonight.

@larbert toffee you are correct, life is more colorful with pictures so I definitely want to see them

I'm good thanks Sassy.

Just cleaning whilst Mrs J scrubs the kitchen to within an inch of it's life.

Can't finish off the rest of the paperwork until a minimum of 3 days before departure.

Do you get every Everton game on cable in the States ? Poor you if you do. I will happily make do with the radio. @Barnfred 55 , now you are back in civilisation are you tempted to find a pub with a dodgy stream to watch the game or will that interfere with more important matters today ?

It is always glad to hear. Hopefully Mrs. J ear is too.

Poor me is the right statement. In order for me to watch Everton I have to carry different subscriptions, we pay for Hulu, peacocks TV and IPTV to be able to find Everton matches. When James was playing for Everton ESPN Latino sports would play Everton matches every week but now they don't so at times it gets challenging and frustrating not to be able to find the games as easily as other Premier teams.

Much recovered thank you. Survived 6 hours of overtime. I'm about to kill the hangover stone dead with a fish finger sandwich. Then it's a quick visit to Tesco before coming back to watch Everton.

Hope the snow doesn't get too bad Sassy. Wrap up warm.

Yeah used to hate lamb chops
Lamb is my favourite meat just over beef oh actually pheasant is lovely, however like I say I am actually a flexitarian, I try to eat veggie meals and I buy mainly veggie food but It's hard too find nice stuff. I do like Quorn though outside of that I've not enjoyed loads.

I do eat meat still but compared to what I used to be like is chalk and cheese but I decided I felt bad for the animals. If I could afford to shop freshly i could learn more veggie recipes but my budget is tight.
