Thank you. You're right. Once I get going it will become easier. I'm not going to bore the pants off you all with updates because I really hate that. However if in a few weeks/ months I'm feeling especially proud of something I might share my news.

Thank you. I'm making a big effort to up my protein. I will seek your advice on recipes if you don't mind. It's a personal thing about not sharing updates but I take your point. I just hate all the self- affirmation that goes on on social media. Look at me aren't I great! Losing 2 stone gets about 200 likes and loads of ooh well done whereas somebody who may have just solved world poverty and won the Nobel prize for physics would probably get a Yeah nice.

Not at all, I get it! If it’s personal choice, then of course keep it under your hat. Just didn’t want you thinking we wouldn’t want to know, if you WERE otherwise inclined to update us.

In any event I’ll keep an eye out.

Upping the protein defo a good idea. I use a website sometimes called Protein Pick n Mix; they do loads of great snacks and supplements to help with just that.
 
Good morning all. The healthy eating campaign starts today. Feeling quite motivated. Got weighed this morning.OMG! Move over Dumbo, there's a new elephant in town ( without the ability to fly ) but I'm quite well motivated. Dust, we'll just be eating dust! Have developed a shocker of a cold since yesterday. Full on runny nose, coughing, sore throat. Tested myself yesterday and today but both negative. Hopefully @jazzy Mrs J has just got cold too. There does seem to be a lot of it about.

best of luck on this and I’m sure you’ll get to where you want to be , I know I read you’ve got a personal trainer (didn’t I ?) if you’re changing your diet and your exercising then I’m sure you’ll be feeling and looking better in no time . Things don’t happen overnight so don’t get caught up in the microdetails but once you’ve started this journey I’m sure it’ll take you were your want to be. if You don’t feel like sharing its entirely up to you, I’ve no doubt you know yourself better than us randomers do !

I definitely put weight on over December, I indulged far too much . Too much beer at various gatherings , meals out and then the follow on of phoning in the gym the next day and grazing whereas I normally try and achieve my ‘active calorie goal’ I certainly wasn’t and factor in the food its easy to have a huge swing calorie wise . I’ve managed to get back into it from that Monday bank holiday. I’ve hit the targets I’ve given myself and already undone most of my excesses . I’ll never be a six pack kind of bloke but I’ll get to where I want to be relatively quickly I hope . A mate of mine who runs ultra marathons tells me I’m goal driven , apparently we all train in different ways , and it works for me .

Thank you. I've been shocking over Christmas and a January birthday doesn't help. I successfully went out for 3 birthday meals last week! One more lunch date to come on Wednesday but every calorie will be logged and accounted for.

Don't be too hard on your self anj.
It's a tough time of year for dieting especially with a birthday and liquid lunches etc lol.
Just resolve to start next week and take if a week at a time.

Me too mate. I probably haven't seen any of the lads I knew from that photo for 30 years. Even the lad who had it on his phone didn't realise I was on it until I pointed me out.

I recall you saying you went to a Catholic school in Speke. Do you remember a lad called Barry Crockett. He may be a bit older than you. He was the one who kept me out to the wee hours on Saturday night.

I went to Speke comp that was the proddy school, All Hallows’ was the catholic one, yes remember Barry very well, he use to drink in the Metal box social club

I think Barry’s brother passes away a few years ago
