I'll not be able to watch first half but will try and keep my eye on proceedings. 2nd half I will probably watch SSN and keep updating the match thread and also Toffeeweb matchday forum. Some of the Toffeeweb contrfibutors are so negative they make GOT into a positive haven.

We need to win today to keep ourselves in a good position should others faulter.

Yeah. Whenever other teams falter, like last week, we never seem to take advantage

Must have happened on at least 10 occasions last season. We also need to batter a few teams as I want our goal difference to be worth the extra points. Last season we knew had to get more points than all our rivals to finish above them as our goal difference was awful.

How you feeling today? I've just seen your answer above.

Mixed emotions today. Gave Cal a great send off. Great turn out with lots of old faces. But a touch of reality bites when it sinks in she isn't going to be about anymore.

Hi Messy, how are you today? Sounds like you had some positive news from the nurse. I'm a bit concerned about today - it could be a massive banana skin, especially with the injuries we've got. Was very much cheered up by Richarlison's recent interview where he said he wants to be an Everton legend. Of course he could just be saying what he wants the fans to hear but I hope not.

I'm currently watching the T20 World Cup match between SA and Australia. As sporting teams go I think the South African cricket team must be in line for the "biggest bottlers on the planet" award! They have all the talent - have had for years but consistently choke.

It's definitely a potential banana skin without big Yerry in the team. Should still have enough about us to win but we always have that capacity for making even the most simple things difficult. Richarlison is a bit of a quandary for me. He is our star player and can drag this team forward on his own. However him and DCL are out most saleable assets and there is so much of the team that needs fixing you wonder if he has a brilliant season is he worth cashing in. We have Gray who can cover LF and DCL who can play through the middle. That money could go on getting 3 more players in positions that we lack that extra bit of quality RB, CM and RF. The thing you know with Richarlison is that he will always give 100% whether he plans to leave or not.

Yeah South Africa are definitely notorious for being bottlers. They are currently in the middle of a rebuild. I would love it if all the countries who play tests were strong again. That South Africa team about 10 years ago was so good.

My worst nightmare is that Newcastle come in with a massive offer for DCL in January. It's in all the papers here in the north east. I genuinely could not cope with them having him! Their fans give Kopites a run for their money for having a collective knobhead attitude! I work with loads of them, I only talk football with the Sunderland and Boro fans - much more grounded lol

Get what you mean about Richarlison. I think he would love to go to PSG and play with Neymar. Have you watched the All or Nothing thing on Netflix about the Brazil team. They all love Richarlison.

In Workington Newcastle are probably the 3rd most popular team. To a man they are deluded idiots. One of the lads in our group of friends supports them and first thing he did was send a picture of himself with a tea towel on his head to the group. Hopefully DCL sees it as a backwards step. The thing is however much money they throw at it the rebuild required there is massive and it won't just magically happen. 2025 will be the soonest they win the title and I personally think it might take longer we are about 7 players from making a decent fist of it they are 14/15 as you need decent squad players as well. Money will be tempting but I don't think he is solely motivated by it. Same with Richarlison as well. Richarlison and DCL both want trophies. Hopefully we can get them one. They also want to play on the biggest stage which is the Champions League. No I haven't seen it. You can tell he's a popular guy even though he walks round with a face like a slapped backside.

DCL is the last player they need. Well not him specifically but their only good players are Saint Maximim and Callum Wilson. Need to sort out their defence and midfield first. As you say, they need a proper squad before they can challenge.

Thanks all for the kind wishes guys. It makes a difference, it really does.

Been to visit the cemetery this morning. I had 2 wreaths from the funeral and I placed 1 with Cals mum and dad and the other with her nan and uncle. I also went to see my brothers grave who died in May. It's the first time I've been up since his ashes were buried.

Meeting some mates this afternoon at some social club to watch the match on some dodgy stream. Reckon we'll scrape a 2-0 win hopefully.
