Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello all. Greetings from Pizza Hut on the Mersey Retail Park, Speke. Quick lunch stop on the way to Dad's. @Gwladysover that is the sweetest thing I have ever heard. Enjoy the party. @Bluerover I'm very interested in your sstudies. I did a law and political theory module in my law degree. St Thomas Aquinas featured prominently. I'm also inspired by you @Terrarian llearning about history. You're both making me want to do something. I've always wanted to do an English A Level so I might sign up in September. @Armaghtoffee How's your back? I might try and join the GIF club later!
Have a great time seeing your dad, Ange. Safe travels.

Morning lovelies,

Hey Sassy, great to have you back. We've missed you. I haven't posted this week as I've just been mad busy. Still am really and working today, too. I'm gonna try and have a bit of a thread catch up over the week-end.

Lovely and sunny here this morning but very cold, 5C at the moment. Had to de-ice the car this morning.

Hope you all have a good week-end and don't let the Blues spoil it. Also hope there's some kind of show of support, no matter how small, for the people of Ukraine at Goodison today.
I missed everyone as much. I hope your work slows down soon because I have missed your good sense of humour since coming back. Xxx

Morning all on this bright and beautiful morning. Hope all are well. Grandchild no 3 is 9 today. Discussing the birthday cake I made she confided that when she blew the candles out she would make the same wish again. I’ll whisper it then you can make it too. ”I wish that Pat-a-cake would come back”. Nanny Pat-a-cake is my Mum who passed four years ago, I didn‘t know what to say, near broke my heart to tell her that her wish can’t come true. Don’t want to appear too negative on such a lovely day Everton will probably do that laterlol. I have tried and failed to post a gif in the past so you never know even I may master it soon. Safe journey @anjelikaferrett. I’m off to the birthday celebration this afternoon! Have a good day all.
Happy birthday to your granddaughter, have a lovely celebration.

I think we should give her a Mutley medal.
Where can I claim my medal ?

Literally couldn’t have done it without you Sassy.
Awe. I’m glad I was able to help. Nobody should be deprive of GIFs ?

Another option was an MA in Aquinas Studies. I opted for Biblical Studies as I love scripture. However two of the modules are New Testament Greek -I have an exam on this next Saturday - and Hebrew next semester. Very challenging.

Aquinas was a genius, yet near the end of his life he had a vision which caused him to say that all his millions of written words were "straw".

Enjoy your pilgrimage @anjelikaferrett

Congratulations to everyone successfully posting GIFs. I’m proud of each of you.

5:30am start today, gym for 6:30, had my youngest’s birthday party, out for lunch and then back home. Cleaned my boxing & MMA gloves and headgear and all my shoes. Gonna make a point of doing absolutely nothing for the rest of the day (while avoiding Everton like the plague).

Have a wonderful day, all!

Stunning pics @Barnfred 55 . I love old buildings. I am forever amazed that people built them with the most basic tools. Durham Cathedral is utterly beautiful. Parts of it are over 1000 years old. There are huge carved pillars inside it. I just look at this and think "Wow , somebody did all those carvings with little more than a chisel." My other favourite place - not quite as old but still beautiful is The Sacre Coeur in Paris
I’m with you, Ange. The Sacre Coeur in Paris is such a magnificent building. When we visited my brother (his wife is French) there a few years back we rented a place in that neighborhood and we got to witness it’s beauty from different angles. I went searching for some pics and these are some of my favorite ones, although none do justice to its exquisite architecture.

Sass my late mother was very devoted to the Sacred Heart. Our home was called Sacre Coeur. When my parents retired and moved to Wicklow they called the house Sacre Coeur.

After her funeral mass the hearse drove past our old home...only ten permitted at the funeral due to Covid. I was astonished and delighted to see that 31 years after selling the house the current owners still have Sacre Coeur on the wall.

The turnout from our old neighbours, who couldn't attend the Mass, was extraordinary. They came to their gates to salute her. Incredible given that she had left so many years ago.

People are mostly good. Just a small number of Muppets who have evil in their hearts.

That’s such a touching story about your late mother and your childhood home, thanks for sharing it. Im sorry Covid robbed your mom and your family a proper well attended funeral in her honor.

I just at times wonder why is it that the Muppets are the ones to be running our world instead of the good people ?
