It looks enormous. Have only seen one Irish navy ship before and it would likely fit in a porthole of that beast.HMS Queen Elisabeth mate.

Not sure mate.Up there for the real Queens anniversary?
Not sure mate.
It seems to have been doing the same trip and excercises around the UK that I did on HMS Invincible once. That stopped in Liverpool as well.
Guess it’s getting ready to be on stand by.
Didn’t realise you were ex-military Toast. My ship was part of the Nimitz task group in Iraq.
Them Yank carriers are different gravy.
They can’t even get into our dock yards properly they are that big.
It’s the new one yes, but it’s long done all it’s sea trials.Excuse my ignorance, but is this the carrier that was still doing sea trials recently, ergo, the new one? The one with no planes?
Weirdly mate it is exactly like a City.Didn’t realise you were ex-military Toast.
Also had to Google Nimitz but glad I did. It’s like a city in itself.

The Prince of Wales is the second one you maybe thinking of ?
Actually I do remember you mentioning the military gig before now I mull it over.Weirdly mate it is exactly like a City.
It had like Ghettos etc that other people don’t go in. Proper strange set up the Yanks Inhave.
We were doing Ops with it ( I was on a destroyer, quick ship like ) and the Nimitz just upped power and left us for dead !
Nuclear powered they are so don’t hang about.
Actually I do remember you mentioning the military gig before now I mull it over.
I get the whole Queen and Country bit but did you ever find yourself asking why the hell am I here? Like family at home and you’re across the world?
It deffo wasn’t the Queen and country thing for me mate.Actually I do remember you mentioning the military gig before now I mull it over.

For context, I have never actually spoken to a soldier in real life but growing up in South Armagh I saw them around. My experience, not as a military person, but someone who has close friends/relative who did serve, is once away, its more about your mates/unit/ship/squadron whatever that trumps most else.
edit. That reads terribly, but getting everyone home safe is #1.
