Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Didn’t realise you were ex-military Toast.

Also had to Google Nimitz but glad I did. It’s like a city in itself.
Weirdly mate it is exactly like a City.
It had like Ghettos etc that other people don’t go in. Proper strange set up the Yanks have.
We were doing Ops with it ( I was on a destroyer, quick ship like ) and the Nimitz just upped power and left us for dead !
Nuclear powered they are so don’t hang about.

Actually I do remember you mentioning the military gig before now I mull it over.

I get the whole Queen and Country bit but did you ever find yourself asking why the hell am I here? Like family at home and you’re across the world?

My experience, not as a military person, but someone who has close friends/relative who did serve, is once away, its more about your mates/unit/ship/squadron whatever that trumps most else.

edit. That reads terribly, but getting everyone home safe is #1.

It deffo wasn’t the Queen and country thing for me mate.

Boss money and some great laughs.

Single mans game though.

For context, I have never actually spoken to a soldier in real life but growing up in South Armagh I saw them around.

Suppose I have never got my head around the motivation bit.
