Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Ive been playting guitar a bit before work this week ....yep I actually bought a cheap guitar here in Riyadh thats how blody addicted I am......I was plaing a few tunes thinking about something positive to cheer @Methuselah a little and went to look for arraqngements of the Z Cars tune . My intention was to play it on a classical guitar but then I came accross this guy. TAKE A BOW BILLY. If this doesnt get your heart pumping with blue pride nothing will.......

That's brilliant mate. Brought a tear to the eye.

Just got me thinking that this lot don't deserve so much love. They really don't.

Bit cloudy here today - but it could be my mucky windows! Need to get out and clean them...or find a new window cleaner. My last one was systematically ripping me off during lockdown so I had to dispense with his services after I challenged him. I knew he was doing it for ages but decided that if he was that skint he could have the money. However when he tried to up his game, I challenged him. Never seen him since. Definitely much colder as well. Had to put the heating back on for an hour - ruining my 6 day no heating streak!
Funnily enough I've just been inspecting my own windows Anj, and thinking exactly the same. A job for when the sun next shines I think. For now I've been saving up the bathrooms for bad weather so that's on the agenda for this week. Luckily, when I was sorting out some of Cal's drawers (the wooden variety before anybody starts) I came across a packet of those throw away plastic gloves (no idea what she used them for) which will be ideal for those hands down the toilet moments to come. ;)

I've had a highly enjoyable day today. Had a few chores I needed to do in Falmouth so ventured onto the village bus for the first time. I now have a load of new best friends from the journey (everybody talks to you down here) and I was pleased to find out that the service is very reliable and not at all expensive if you buy a return ticket. I sorted out closing down Cal's bank account, a chore I've been putting off for a while, treated myself to a much needed haircut, and had a lovely brunch at a cafe overlooking the harbour, a place Cal and I had kept saying we must visit but never did. She would have loved it. No nonsense, nice food, not too expensive and lovely views.

I did a bit of shopping and then treated myself to a pint of Cornish ale whilst I sorted out transferring everything to a new phone and advising all my contacts, something else I've been putting off for months. It's the first time I've been out for a pint on my own since Cal passed. Then I stocked up on some Thai Jasmine rice from the Asian foodstore. Can't believe how much of the stuff I've been eating lately. Then back on the bus for the 20 minute journey home, meeting some of my new best friends from the outward journey, and the driver even stopped at the top of my road saving me a 5 minute walk.

So I have a real sense of achievement at getting stuff done today that I've been avoiding. Plus discovering that we have a reliable bus service to Falmouth (our one previous experience on there was a disaster) opens new doors for me for the warmer months. There are boat trips from Falmouth up both the Helford and Fal Rivers plus passenger ferries across to Flushing and St Mawes, two beautiful coastal villages, and you can catch the train to other parts of Cornwall. I fully intend to make use of all of them. ;)

Yeah it's nice here today. Still sunny and warm but possibility of snow later in the week!
Don't think we'll see any snow down here Jazz. Well, maybe on Bodmin Moor perhaps.

My Aeonium (think that's what they're called) have wintered well Jazz. They don't do well with frost or too much rain but they both look remarkably well coming into growing season. They are in pots though so not sure how much growth they have in them.

Sounds as though you had a good day. Just a tip regard the window cleaning - avoid doing them when the sun is shining or they’ll go all streaky. Household tips by Gwladys, I’m here all week.;)

I was going to post the same. Better to clean with tepid water,l with washing up liquid and then quickly polish with dry newspaper. If the sun is shining it will dry into streaks very quickly.

Much better than using commercial window cleaner. I admit however to using Autoglym on my cars. Brilliant products

Think I'd rather have streaky windows rather than wash them in the cold.

Actually what you said resonates with me. I remember Cal cleaning the front windows last year on a lovely sunny day and they did indeed streak. Mind you I was going to tell her lol

I think you're getting me confused with @blue1948 Gwladys. lol

Anyway, just abut to go and make tea. I have a nice Aberdeen Angus sirloin steak waiting for me to throw on the grill pan. Just going to have it plain with some fries and garlic mushrooms and English mustard.

Sorry hun. I'm forgetting you;re a veggie

I had Angus sirloin with garlic, onions and spring spuds earlier. Can't beat it.
