Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I know someone that was a chef in various regions of Spain and I think the ingredients can vary from area to area , I’m sure in parts of Catalonia they use rabbit.

Rabbit is a very popular dish in Malta. They even have a hotel called Les Lapins, which is French for the rabbits. I kid you not.

When we visit my wife's family in Malta, my father-in-law always cooks rabbit by way of celebration. He used to breed them, too. When the kids were little, he used to say, "We're having special chicken for dinner" then give a sly wink, so the kids didn't know they were eating bunny.

Good morning @Barnfred 55 hows things mate? Am I correct in thinking that you are abstaining at present - if so how is that going?
How are you today @Barnfred 55 ?

Any plans?

Morning @Barnfred 55, won’t dig myself in a hole today so I’ll just leave it there. lol
Morning all. Morning Messy. Hope you slept well and have another good day today. It was great to see you posting in here q lot yesterday.

As regards your team of the Premier era I agree it pretty much picks itself in maybe 8/9 positions. I think I'd have to find space for Piennar simply because his partnership took Baines to a different level. Teams just couldn't cope with them and I'd have loved to see what prime Coleman and Kanchelskis could have done on the right.

Hopefully I won't be so lazy today as the last 2 days. I don't think my withdrawal symptoms from my 12 day binge helped in that, nor the atrocious weather down here. Starting day 4 of my detox today and beginning to see the benefits.

I have a final clothes wash to do from my trip which I'm just about to do. The weather's sunny at the moment too so will take a walk into the village thus morning to get a few provisions like bread. If there's a pasty left I may not be able to resist getting one for my lunch, if not I'll probably do myself a BLT on toasted ciabatta. This afternoon I really must crack on with some paperwork that I've been putting off.

I was a naughty boy last night and cooked my go to meal of cheese and onion on toast. It's an old family recipe that I may reveal in Sassy's recipe thread. Needless to say it didn't fit with my detox regime but what the hell.

Anyway feeling quite positive today so hopefully I'll clear a lot of that paperwork.

I think I could happily let you be my meal planner- pasties, bread and cheese ?

Good luck with that paperwork, never nice but satisfying all the same when it’s done.

A cheese and onion on toast recipe! Isn't it just cheese, onion, and toast?

The addition of fresh chillies is needed for me but not sure what else. I am intrigued!

You'd be surprised what goes in it mate. Also how it's cooked.

Absolutely love fresh chillies but not sure whether it would upset the balance. Might try it with a bit of crushed dried chillies in first just to see how it is with a bit of heat.

Morning everyone! I'm up and waiting for another day to reveal itself. I managed a couple of jelly pots today and I'm going to try toast at half 12. I'm trying to sort my evenings out for the start of the week. Try not to get to far in advance but also make sure folk are free.

Morning Messy, how`s the weather up there with you ?

My mate on the West Coast sent me a few pics of around by him last night and it looked pretty grim with the flooding tbh.

In saying that, in lieu of going out for his normal bike ride, he went for a run in the lowland fells around by him yesterday and went for a mile swim this morning lol

Now for my all time 11

Southall
Stevens Labone Ratcliffe Wilson
Steven Reid Ball Sheedy
Young Dean

I think that would beat an an era world 11. I would say that though as I'm biased!!
Incredibly difficult that mate. I'd have a question mark over Stevens, only because he was not absolutely top notch and I'm not convinced there's not been a better right back over the years. I agree we haven't had a better one since.

And as much as I loved Trevor Steven, Kanchelskis was different level in the short time he was here.

Peter Reid is probably my favourite ever Everton player. But I'm probably going to have the forum in uproar here. If we are using quality of player as the benchmark here, rather than impact on the club, then I think it's hard not to find a spot in the 11 for James Rodriguez. I know he never played enough for us plus there were genuine questions over his commitment, but in pure football quality he was absolutely world class. Finest I've seen at Everton (don't really remember Bally) in my lifetime, and a massive shame we couldn't find a way to keep him here this season in some capacity.

I haven't watched the news but from what I've seen on Facebook it looks pretty grim. Thanks for reminding me as I need to switch heating on but had forgotten to!! It wet and miserable. Going to my cousins tonight have catch up with her her sister and her son.

When you say a mile swim, was that down to the village shop and back?

Kanchelskis was a consideration but he didn't stay long enough for me. I wanted a midfield 4 that complemented each other so Reidy tge spade work Ball the forward thinking stuff. For James see Kanchelskis. Right Back we genuinely haven't had one stand out. This is because RB are usually last pick!!
