Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

It’s hard to see the bigger picture when you’re 12. They did all the parents and coaches proud and we will make sure they know it.

Tonight will be a movie with pizza to cheer him up.
He did well, solid performance against a team from the division above. Heartbreaking to see the little boys crying at the end.
That’s indeed heartbreaking for a parent and for him, at his age, losing in penalties must be devastating. But once the emotions from today’s loss pass, he will feel proud of his effort and will play with even more desire to beat them next time around.

I hope the movie and the pizza cheers everyone, not just him ?

You can’t really enjoy victory until you have hurt from defeat. This will only spur that team onto greater things.

As I say this I've got this nagging Everton thing going on in the back of my mind. lol

But, whilst we all like to win, losing occasionally isn't always a bad thing AT. Sometimes you can learn a lot more from losing than you do from winning, and if you don't take the odd hit whilst growing up you're likely in for a short sharp shock when you reach adulthood. he's young and he'll get over it quickly enough; probably after the pizza tonight. ;)

Losing at sport is crucial for building a child’s resilience and determination to improve themselves. Learning those traits along with the new friends they make is far more important than any trophy.
