He was decent today, but you can't let that goal happen. You just can't. Their target guy is sitting right there. You simply HAVE to know where he is at all times. To just sit there, no reaction, ball watching, you just cannot let that happen. I would be pretty surprised if Holgate and MIna isn't eventually the back two, but it is going to take time for them to gel.

Unfortunately, Keane just isn't very good. It's really not much more than that.
Completely disagree sorry. The moment that ball left that fellas left boot, Keane was in a decent position. Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and accept the brilliance of the cross. It was pin point accurate and was JUST a fraction to high for Keane to get a head on it. A slightly flatter cross and he’s heading that away like he was all afternoon. Superb cross.

It most certainly wasn’t a glaring error from Keane.

Sometimes there are just players that have made errors and had a poor game before the game has even started. Keane it seems is going to be one of those players.

IMO, he was very good yesterday, and next Saturday it’s Keane and one other beside him.

His positioning may have been affected by Holgate, but he still didn't move once the ball was played. So either he misjudged it a bit, or he just isn't very agile.

I will say this, should Pickford had done better?

They were camped out in our third pinging in cross after cross. Eventually one of those is going to go in. I don't see how you blame Keane or Holgate or Pickford. Not their fault we were down to 10 men.

The ref did us no favors, but this one's on Phil.

There I disagree. Wolves CF options were poor and when you are playing pretty much 5 in the back at that point, you cannot let their one aerial threat get off a clean header. It wasn't just Keane's fault, but Jimenez was given too much space in the box.

Fair enough. I'm not saying that he played it perfectly. But when you can't get the ball out of your third, you give the defenders a lot of rope to hang themselves with.

Lots of factors to their second goal, Schneiderlin or Gueye should have put more pressure on Neves. Baines played Jiminez onside and in fairness it was a great cross. I thought Keane looked ok today, it’s just possible that we might have 4 half decent center backs in the squad. Keane’s biggest problem is his lack of confidence.

If he’d focussed on staying touch tight on his man & jumped, he’d have prevented the goal.

Instead, the second the cross came, he turned his back on Jimenez & was drawn to the ball, allowing Jimenez to peel off him.

Had he not completely misjudged the flight of the ball, he’d have got away with it, but he did.

2 cardinal sins for any CB. No matter how well he did for 89 minutes, that undid it all.

Mina & Zouma next week.

Better from Keane in general. I think he could have better for the goal, but it was a quality cross. I wonder whether his ability in the air has worked against him coming up through the ranks in terms of having to be a sharp marker in the box.

World class cross, the fault lies with whoever should’ve been closing Neves down rather than Keane for me. You’re not going to head away every cross, especially when it’s put on a sixpence.

Absolute nonsense.

If he’d stayed touch tight :-

1. Jimenez would have tried to peel off and gone down, risking a penalty.

Or

2. Neves would have dropped it on the other guys head.

And he didn’t misjudge the flight. A top quality international under no pressure at all was given time and space to deliver an inch perfect cross. Which he did.

This is very much Everton thinking. Eventually one will go in... a good team doesn't allow that to happen. I'm hoping Silva will eradicate that mindset as we have had it for far too long.
