Its totally mind blowing how people are so one eyed about him.

Whose paying £25-30mil for him tomorrow? No one.

Mina could be a decent fee but again his injuries knock him down to Keane value of £20mil.

You look at these two players and the fact is that they totally limit how you set up the team -- not only the defence but the entire system (and i like Mina).

Im amazed people dont seem to understand that by playing Keane you limit the tactics of the manager....limit the development of Godfrey and also maximise the chances of failure to build attacks and to win games and climb the table.

People think signing forwards will improve the team...and they will. But nowhere near as they could if we had a top class player next to Godfrey.

Imagine any of the consistent top 4 sides in the league over the last 20 years playing Keane. Their entire gameplan would be pushed back 20 yards.

Madness.

Would you have John Stones over Michael Keane?

lol lol lol

Another who thinks Michael Keane blunts our attacking output.

How do you people know how to close your eyes at night to go to sleep?
I like this line " by playing Keane you limit the tactics of the manager " who does he think picks Keane in the first place lol He also must of missed the stat that says that James and Keane share for the most balls into the final third (104)

Cheers, I was just curious because we were rumoured to be looking to bring him back a while ago and a lot of fans weren't happy about it and said he was crap and not good enough for Everton etc.

Next to Godfrey i think you need someone with athleticism and pace whose extremely hard to get past and/or a ball player.

Options for 2 positions: Godfrey / Mina / Keane...

You could drop in Holgate whose been mostly right back this season but even then id say hes a Godfrey backup.

So youve got Keane/Mina = very deep. Keane/Godfrey = very deep OR the best partnership which is Godfrey/Mina and while being a bit more advanced also is too deep.

Ancelotti doesnt have options other than to play deep. Hence i imagine why we signed Godfrey to begin amending this disaster.

No idea what that stat proves? We know Keane likes to lump the ball forward...hes hardly at a level of quality where he should be doing that.

It does'nt matter if he lumps it or not at least he is trying to get the ball forward which is more than a lot of our other players do, you just have an issue with him that's all. None of our CB are good enough for where we wish to aim for, even Godfrey his best games have been at LB not CB, i mean i really like the guy and he was easily our best signing of last summer but his positioning at times is crap. I have faith we will sign someone at CB.

I'd imagine that the outcome of those balls will be a bit different.
