Loads on here would disagree

What makes you right?

As I said, you have as much idea what's inside Carlo's head as the next person.
What makes me right is how well Keane has been playing. I'm %100 right about this.
You are 100% right of course, just ignore him - either being deliberately obtuse, is himself 100% biased against Keane or doesn’t have a clue. Either way, ignore, you’re spot on and vast majority would agree.

Just to show you how wrong you are, here are a number of my posts from a couple of days ago in which I was actually supporting Keane against another poster who was giving him stick. If you look back just a few pages in this thread you will also see that I have made many other posts praising Keane, both for his performance for England the other night and for Everton in general of late.

In fairness he has improved in certain area's and when we're playing a deeper back line he is a very good Premier defender. He does still have issues, not least his lack of pace and recovery abilities, and occasionally his positioning although the latter is greatly improved of late.

However I really have to take issue with your comments on his distribution. The majority of his passes, as you would expect with every single defender in world football without exception, are easy safe passes. But Kene does also have the ability to pass forward accurately. In the Englnd game the other night, which is the match that people were specifically talking about if I'm not mistaken, he was the only player out of the back 8 who was consistently able to break the lines and find one of the front 3. His distribution was excellent in that game. All the other midfielders, defenders and the keeper were unable to make a decent forward pass.
Well I hope you learn to enjoy watching Keane play for Everton in the Premier league because you're going to be seeing a lot more of him than you think you are.

As for not being part of our plans, that's why we gave him an extension to his contract a few months ago when he still had 2 years left.
Well I think you may need to endure him for a couple more seasons then.

I think Carlo will pair either him or Mina with either Godfrey and Holgate in most games, once Holgate is fit and the new lad settles in. I think that offers a good combination of height, strength, pace and quality on the ball.

It will be interesting to see what Carlo's first choice partnership is because I don't think there's much between them.
I wasn't having a pop at Keane in the post you highlighted, I was having a pop at the poster who has a history of giving stick to Mina. I support all our players and if I see somebody having an unfair pop at any of them I'll call him out. He is biased against Mina and you will note that he didn't deny it.

He has no idea that Carlo will prefer Keane to Mina, and neither do you for that matter. If you think that is being obtuse well maybe I should be the one putting you on ignore because obviously you're talking through your arse. ;)

Lads, lads, lads - just let this Mina/Keane bias thing go. People have different opinions from each other, and even these vary (quite reasonably) over time. Thinking a player isn't that great, or is better/worse than another isn't necessarily bias, or involving any wish to be objectionable, it's just a viewpoint. Chill pill. Deep breaths. Let's start again from here.

neither has been that consistent. Mina on his day is better IMO but he’s so up and down and is injury prone. Keane was clearly inferior for awhile but has improved and is better week in snd week out. Case can be made either way depending on which games you’re looking at.

I don't think there is a case for Yerry based on what has actually happened. I think maybe somewhere in his locker is the potential for Yerry to be better but we are on year 3 and he hasn't shown it. Mostly that can be put to injuries I'd say but the fact remains.

Keane is ok, he is a decent centre back. He could be a bit more aggressive, given his size, and, ideally he could turn a bit quicker.

Playing in a deep defence, which seems to be Carlo’s favored system, he is solid, but, if we play a higher line, he needs a quick partner to cover him. All in all he is no world beater, but, better than a lot of us, me included, gave him credit for.

Rarely seen a centre-half so reliant on this. Even Mina looks rapid next to him in comparison.

That's the problem long term because I think Ancelotti wants to play a higher line, hence Godfrey signing/going after Gabriel.
