Was getting excited thinking he was getting better in those first four games, but been dog poo ever since. Too late for us to sell him now, nobody would want him anyway, so he'll be here until his contract is up, whenever that may be, probably 2024 knowing our luck.

There’ll always be a massive gap between our midfield and defence because this bloke had to almost be on the goal line with Pickford to prevent players running past him. Too slow, too hesitant, not good enough, but he has an average game and fans think he’s great. Give me prime Jagielka Lescott Yobo Distin Heitinga Stones over this guy any day. A lower end premier league centreback.
He also gives the ball away a lot. I mean most of our players do. The centre backs are poor but there isn’t many decent ones out there anyhow. We should be performing better though. The main reason for our poor defensive record is how much we give the ball away under zero pressure. And most of the decent teams now in the league are quick and good counter attackers. When the roles are reversed, the DCL goal aside last week, we tend to take too long on the ball or go backwards. I mean the amount of times today we were in promising positions but it ended up a throw in was countless.

He’s the embodiment of the modern everton - nice lad, tries hard but ultimately nowhere near good enough. Seeing bamford bullying him in certain possessions today and the way he never sees danger just frustrates the life out of me.

Brilliant defender in a low block or when defending a lead, that's about it. Not sure why he is so unable to go tight with a forward, any forward who drops deep he just seems to let them have so much time (Martial, Ings, Bamford, Firmino, even Cavaleiro caused him problems). Just too flawed for a side wanting top 6.
