Not my favourite player , not aggressive enough for my liking at centre back and needs someone to hold his hand to produce a decent performance .
Would be made up if we sold him.

He’s made up, probably just assured himself he won’t be going in the summer window now. He’ll put a bit of effort in for the new manager now into the end of the season.

He’s an utter charlatan, a con artist, how people fall for his nice bloke impression is beyond me, week after week he is having the fans off.
If there’s one thing Keane isn’t is this, Jesus Christ. He’s just a pure confidence player, Ancelotti worked to his strengths and got the best out of him, Benitez failed to do that so it’s seen his bad side come back out

100% ⬆️ I’d add that he also had some of his best games with no fans in the stadium.

Clearly he struggles mentally under pressure, which is a real shame for him but sadly will always prevent him from reaching his top potential.

You can’t have a centre back who’s a confidence player at this level. Also “confidence player” is just a kind way of saying he’s a mentally fragile wet wipe that crumbles at the first sign of pressure.

Oh of course but if a manger gets the best out of him he’s still a useful asset

‘His bad side’?! Jeez he’s probably the worst centreback in the league. He was trash under Ancelotti as well in the second half of last season. He’s just a terrible player that needs everything to be set up perfectly for him to even be average. As soon as it’s not he’s horrendous.

Saying he was good last season is the same as saying someone is good in training. Last season wasn’t real football, we’re not going back to that farcical standard ever again. As soon as football fans appear in a stadium this fella has a mental breakdown.

Easily one of our worst signings. Had a great purple patch when we we played low-block under Ancelotti - but in anything other than a Burnley-esque negative setup he's a complete and utter liability.

Have no animosity towards him as a person - he's probably a nice guy. But sadly he's an awful footballer.

The issue is that when Keane is just doing the absolute big standard basics that I’d expect any competent centrehalf to do, people think he’s being ‘good’. If he has a game where he heads balls away and boots them clear people think this is ‘good’. He’s nowhere near being good, a mile away from it. Think back to Jags Lescott Distin Stones at their peak for us, even Keane’s best is probably not as good as them on a bad day.

Keane was playing well in the first half of last season, then he got dropped by England and that's been it. He thought he shouldn't have been dropped, and rather than rolling up his sleeves and continue to work at his game he just went to pieces. You'll never be a top player if you don't accept the ups and downs in form and keep working on your game. He's actually become a bit of a liability all to often this season when under pressure.
