Thing about Keane, he performs better with a stronger CB alongside, not some one like Holgate and a better midfield in front. He is more suited to 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 not 5-2-1-2, which seem to be whar we had yesterday.

Also no fans on his back during Lockdown playing period, , he suffered with mental health issues in past and I would suspect its confidence issues.

That I did not know. Believe me I understand what negative mental health can do. What I do not understand is why he is in such a key position where complete steel is required. I wish him the very best, genuinely.

The big problem we’re seeing is the poor form of the team bringing out the bad side of Keane. No coincidence that his best form was under Ancelotti when things were going well

He’s in his 5 season and had at best a season and a half at a good level. Now that happens with a load of footballers and in all sports. Players, playing above their level. But will quickly drop back down to their normal level
That’s Keane.

He’s a mid table defender at best, with a weak mentality and when something goes against him, he crumbles. A recipe for disaster

I hear the same pathetic excuses for Gomes. He can’t play in a 2 he Needs to play in a 3 then he’s fine. Yes so fine he get 1 goal and 1 assists at best over. Seasons a Well worth playing a 3 in midfield

and a certain person on here who does a pod, listening to the pod last night, inside 3 minutes mentioned Keane and no blame attached, seemed to say in not so many words, that he was covering for the poor defenders either side of him.

Keane, Coleman, Davies, Gomes. The bullet proof gang I call them. After 3/4 yrs of disgraceful performances. They still have some fan’s wanting to give them more time and quite happy to see them in the team #27years

No you misread me there, just pointing out that FSW's system is not suited to him. For me the back should be a pick from Godfrey, Branthwate and Mina, But FSW will never pick anyting like that because he has a thing agianst young players and only picks them if no alternative.

Look at the subbing yesterday.

Yes I agree about Rafael, but Keane needs to be solid in the next couple of windows he’s not good enough. I think Branthwaite may have played yesterday if he was fit.

While I know the midfield is an issue when we only have 2 in there. To get the best out of our new young full backs, to help them settle in. And to help Branthwaite settle in. I’d stick with a back 5 and 3cbs of Godfrey, Mina and Branthwaite.

To help out the midfield. Occasionally one the wing backs would have to come across or one of the attackers behind DCL, drop into midfield.

Playing a player out of sorts and form is doing him more harm than good.

I’m hoping he gives some of these kids a run out on Saturday, With a more progressive system. Play DCL, Doucoure Gomes and hopefully Mina if he’s available. I would give Kenny another go at right back as he improved a lot 2nd half his partnership with Gordon was much better than when Coleman was switched. Give Brathwaite, Dobbin, Ghamin and our new Left back starts and give this game a real go.

I have never seen him angry even when we conceed. Looks like he hates playing footy and can't wait for the game to be over so he can get back to trainspotting or whatever

This! he just don't seem to care at all , he just look like as if he playing football as part-time...doesn't even try. Worst cb I have ever seen playing honestly

I dunno who it was on here a week or so ago who was arguing that Keane is a class centre back but that performance epitomises everything about the guy.

He can have his good moments but his confidence is brittle at best and his footballing brain is non existent. We need players like him gone unless we only aspire to be a team where we can be good one week and atrocious the next.
