2024/25 Michael Keane

Predictable Keane pile on. We don’t look to have the right balance in midfield at the moment, they’re not protecting the back four as well as last season and fullback areas are looking vulnerable with injuries. Keane’s not why we’re conceding so many goals at the moment.

Are you arguing against literal factual information now?

The stats below over a large sample size suggest you're talking out your rear:

I wasn't absolving him of blame, far from it, it was an observation of the cause of failure.

A professional footballer should should be able to move around a bit without tripping over their own feet.

High standards I know.
My apologies - I thought you were attempting to defend him!

Agree 100% - getting outjumped because you don't even know where your own feet are is just ridiculous. How Keane continues to get selected is beyond me.

He ducked his head to try and flick a cross out rather than using his body position and height to head it back where it came from.

He's the personification of a club that CAN move on and progress but via the manager refuses to.

He's genuinely awful.

He's been directly individually at fault for at least five goals in the first four prem games this season alone. It's already at the stage that if one of our fullbacks fails to block a cross, or a midfielder doesn't cut out a through ball, we go crazy at them - because we KNOW that Keane's man will be open to get on it.

We concede on average over two goals per game whenever he starts - that's been true for his ENTIRE stint at Everton.

The stats PROVE that our win ratio plummets when he's in the starting lineup.

He's as bad as Alcaraz was. And we paid a king's ransom for him. Keane is one of the worst players, and by extension one of the worst transfers, I've ever seen at Everton.

Dyche will be forced to bring O'Brian in like Braithwaite last season. Keane is simply not good enough anymore for EPL.

I’m sure he knows, he probably feels pretty bad about it. What’s he going to do though? He doesn’t pick himself, he isn’t going to refuse to play.

Watching it back he actually did some pretty decent defending in the game, it’s just his errors cost too much.
Keane has no confidence in his own ability and offers none to those around him, he has little anticipation of the game, is always two seconds or more behind the game, can’t read the game, hardly knows where he is regarding his position during the game but being honest he relaxes when he is in the opposition’s penalty area now and again, because he knows he can’t do any damage to Everton there, and occasionally slots a goal in for us. How he ever made it to the premier league and became a millionaire is a complete mystery, several black cats must have crossed his path during his life!

Controversial opinion....but we need to stop blaming Keane for us being garbage.
Not every disaster stems from him. Granted, the stats are better with him out of the team, but the stats were also better when Doucs was in the team last season and everyone thinks he’s pants.
We need to face facts. We have a poor manager, a very mediocre set of players and a losers mentality. It’s not a great combination.
I am not sure we are blaming Keane for making us garbage but for making us more so which given our current form needs addressing.

It's opinions like yours that will ensure we are relegated at the end of the season.

I feel a little sorry for the fella as he’s not the one picking himself every week.

Im sure he’s trying his best as well, but it’s crystal clear his best isn’t anywhere near good enough.

He’s paid more than handsomely for the privilege of wearing the royal blue jersey, but he simply hasn’t got the heart or self belief it cut it, and it’s a dereliction of duty by the manager to keep selecting him, while he makes everyone around him worse.
